Chapter 2112: Kill

Chapter 2112: Kill

However, she could hardly be considered in the same light as before. Although she wasn’t as strong as Lu Yun, there was an imperceptible circulation of heaven and earth outside her body now.

Plainly, this was just a new kind of cultivation technique for her. Her true strength came from herself, the extensive strength of the body that she deployed to dazzling heights.

To her, the external circulation of heaven and earth was an enhancement, but not her core strength. Twelve hundred years of cultivation had finally brought her to this point, but her circulation was a bit different from Lu Yun’s.

He frowned at her. “Do you know what I’m about to do?”

The utter gloom of night wrapped around them like a curtain. Nighttime visibility in this world was so low that the Spectral Eye could only scan two hundred and fifty thousand kilometers around him. He couldn’t say what might exist outside of that range.

Perhaps there was a ghost zombie king out there. Or perhaps there was more to be found.

“I don’t know,” a grave Yuan Yi shook her head. “But your strength noticeably increases each time you return. My strength will never improve like yours if I stay in the city.

“Even after twelve hundred years of cultivation, I am still unable to beat who you were when we first met. Thus, I must go out with you this time.”

There were three other powerful guardians holding down the fort, as well as Wang Shu and more than one hundred cultivators. The ghost zombie hordes could no longer threaten Jingzhou City. What she meant by when they first met was the Lu Yun prior to breaking the seal.

He took a deep look at her and nodded. “I’m going to kill a zombie king.”

Yuan Yi shook, then firmly nodded back at him. “I’m going with you. I may not be able to defeat one, but I’m confident in my ability to protect myself.”

Immense confidence shone out of her eyes. She’d learned about ghost zombie kings and how strong they were from those of the other three cities and their guardians.

“Alright,” Lu Yun didn’t turn her down. If the local cultivators wished to grow stronger, they had to experience battle. The city boasted sufficient protection now. Even if they didn’t have powerful guardians, the formation would endure for countless eons and more cultivators would be born during that period.

It was time that the cultivators focused on improving their strength. Being the strongest, it was easiest for Yuan Yi to improve. Her external circulation was just a shadow, but once she fully realized it and combined it with her own strength, she wouldn’t be that far off from Lu Yun before the second seal was broken.

“Let’s go.” Lu Yun rose into the air and activated his domain that spanned ten kilometers. He easily picked up Yuan Yi. “I’ll fight the zombie king, I leave its minions to you.”

He streaked into a ray of light and vanished with the girl. Their departure was so silent that no one knew that the city’s strongest powerhouses had left.

……

Inside a large rift valley.

Teeming masses of ghost zombies wandered to and fro. Other than Jingzhou City, there were no other cities within five billion kilometers of the rift valley. The city had been their only target before, but it was so strong now that they were afraid of it and didn’t dare approach.

The ghost zombie king resided in the depths of the valley. It had its head tilted toward the sky in a continuous howl, summoning ghost zombies to it. The zombie king would start the war on Jinghzou City once it gathered enough minions.

It was shaped like a massive lizard and ran fifty kilometers long. Bright red scales covered its body and four pairs of similarly colored bat wings sprouted from its back. A bloody light gleamed in its eyes and it constantly swept the premises with a watchful gaze.

Staggering killing intent wreathed around it, but it also showed numerous signs of decay. A putrid scent wafted from it as corpsewater trickled out of its brightly colored scales.

The zombie king suddenly looked upward and released two beams of light from its eyes that were almost tangible. The radiance cut through the void.

“So that’s a ghost zombie king!” Yuan Yi’s heart quailed. An icy grip clenched around her heart despite standing next to Lu Yun. She could sense that a singular zombie king would be sufficient to destroy the current Jingzhou City. All defensive measures and formations would be paper in front of it.

If it wasn’t for Lu Yun in residence, the city would’ve long been razed to the ground.

“Aouuu!” the ghost zombie king howled as its wings unfurled. It sped into a thin line of bright red as it pounced on Lu Yun and Yuan Yi.

The ghost zombies next to it shrieked as well. A dozen of the more powerful ones rose into the air alongside their king. While they weren’t zombie kings themselves, they possessed terrifying strength that placed them over regular ghost zombies.

They couldn’t fly since they didn’t have wings, but they were so strong that they could defy gravity like cannonballs.

“You take care of the ghost zombies, I’ll take out the zombie king,” Lu Yun shouted and separated from Yuan Yi to charge the enemy.

The zombie king snarled with fury, a violent light dawning in its eyes. But when it encountered the five kilometer domain around Lu Yun, it rapidly backed up like it’d been grazed by blazing flames.

Five kilometers wasn’t expansive—it was a rather small distance to the zombie king as it was fifty kilometers long. But those five kilometers were a death sentence to it. Half of its fore claws melted off when it touched the domain.

“Die!!” Lu Yun shouted, his speed far greater than the zombie king’s. He caught up as soon as the zombie king retreated. Magnificent power of heaven and earth condensed into an enormous fist and smashed into the zombie king’s head.

Bam!

The ghost zombie king’s head caved in from the blow.
