Chapter 276 Punishment

\'Wow, they look resolute,\' Raydon observed, noting the seriousness reflected in Cael and Thalia\'s eyes.

They had done this before with the intention of appeasing some of Raydon\'s wrath by sacrificing Tika, and what they were doing now was not dissimilar to that. Only this time, rather than risking the life of an E-Rank battle maid, they were risking their own lives, which was a much more valuable asset.

"What are your levels?" Raydon pondered for a moment before asking.

Everyone was taken aback, including Samuen and Diam, as they were unsure of why Raydon had asked this question.

"I\'m level 42, and she is level 41," Cael responded, not quite grasping the relevance of the question.

"Hmm. C-Rank and level 42," Raydon observed the two of them intently, deep in thought. After a moment, he asked curiously, "How many experience points can I get from you two?"

\'\'...\'\'

When they finally understood Raydon\'s intention, everyone was left speechless, unable to find the right words to respond.

Thalia and Cael had accepted responsibility for their actions, and now Raydon was contemplating the potential experience points he could gain by killing them.

Additionally, based on the expression on his face and the seriousness with which he was calculating, it appeared as though he was more interested in the experience points he would get than in exacting revenge.

\'\'You can obtain around 800,000 experience points if you eliminate them, and there\'s a possibility of acquiring fragments of their dimensional storage as well, \'\' Diam, who had been patiently waiting without speaking up until this point, spoke with the same emotionless demeanor as usual.

\'Miss Diam, why are you encouraging him? \' Zephyr thought tensely upon hearing her intervention.

"Wait, you shouldn\'t decide so quickly. I don\'t think this will give you the full benefit you want. I\'m sure someone as talented as you can gain more experience through a few inheritances. Moreover, the dimensional storage fragments that would be dropped from them would only be a small fraction of what they possess, and the rest would be destroyed," Zephyr said nervously and hastily, trying to dissuade him from his thoughts.

"That\'s right. I\'m sure if you ask them directly, they can give you more valuable things." Seren also intervened, hoping to change his mind.

Even though Arden and Elara didn\'t say a word, the look on both of their faces conveyed the shock and anxiety that they both felt. Despite their usual clashes within the family, they recognized the importance of standing together and couldn\'t allow their family elders to sacrifice themselves in such a manner.

In spite of this, however, Raydon was the one who found himself in the most unexpected position.

\'What the fuck? Are these people for real? \'

In reality, Raydon was only testing the waters and wasn\'t serious about what he said. First of all, even though the people in front of him did not have the same potential as him, they were still much stronger than he was. Furthermore, they were not ordinary people to whom he could casually ask for their lives, but elders who served as the backbone of this family.

However, Raydon was beginning to comprehend the gravity of the situation now, seeing that Cael and Thalia did not object after he had expressed his will, and to top it all off, the others were trying desperately to dissuade him as if if he insisted they really wouldn\'t have any other choice but to let him kill them.

\'They\'re really weird,\' Raydon thought.

In some respects, he was able to empathize with them and see things from their point of view. He was aware of his own egotistical nature, which led him to be willing to put others in harm\'s way in order to accomplish his goals. However, he noticed a significant difference. Even though these two acted selfishly, they were more concerned with the success of their family than with advancing their own personal interests.

\'Ahh, whatever. Even with the body enchantment I have, I would still most likely be able to gain 1.6 million experience points. \' Raydon momentarily entertained the thought of killing them, but he quickly changed his mind when he checked his character panel and saw that he had millions of experience points still waiting for him.

At this point, he needed much more to level up or re-upgrade his title, and on top of that, he couldn\'t increase his stats any further by using these experience points.

With all these thoughts swirling in his mind, Raydon voiced his decision. \'\'Whatever. I will decide later. \'\'

When he saw that they had completely accepted the punishment, he lost interest in the matter as well. If they had offered even the slightest hint of resistance, it would have been slightly more entertaining.

After hearing this, everyone let out a collective sigh of relief. They were uncertain about how Samuen, the head of their family, would have reacted if Raydon had insisted on carrying out the punishment. However, observing Cael and Thalia\'s behavior, it was clear that the outcome would not have been favorable.

\'\'Well, we can discuss this later. \'\' Samuen said with a laugh, his tone easing the tension in the room. He continued, \'\'However, there is still something else very important that you need to see. \'\'

\'\'Hm? \'\' Raydon turned his gaze to Samuen, his curiosity piqued as he looked at him suspiciously.

He had just discovered that his entire life had been built on deception, and that the world he was born into had been destroyed as a result of his existence, and now there was something even more important for him to see?

\'Don\'t tell me. Is this life also another simulation? \' Raydon thought, his eye twitching with suspicion.

"Don\'t worry, while this thing is important, it\'s not all that shocking... Probably," Samuen added, observing Raydon\'s expression. However, it was clear that even he wasn\'t entirely certain.

"But before that, can I take that diary?" Samuen asked, pointing to the file that Raydon was still holding.
