Chapter 275 - 275: Love Is to Pleasure Each Other, Not A Solo Performance

Xu Wanlan was dressed in a black professional suit and holding a transparent umbrella as she stood behind the reporters. Her exquisite face was expressionless.

“Why is she here?” Lin Qingqian’s eyes were filled with doubt.

“Miss Lin, it’s time to take your medicine. ” The auntie brought over warm water and medicine.

Lin Qingqian came back to her senses and put down her phone. She took the medicine from her hand and swallowed it before finishing the water. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” The aunt took the cup and returned to the kitchen.

Lin Qingqian picked up her phone again and looked at Xu Wanlan in the photo. Her eyes were still filled with confusion.

White did not have a cooperative relationship with Tianyue Group, so there was no need for her to pay her respects. Xu Wanlan however, would always appear outside the Jiang residence for no reason.

Lin Qingqian couldn’t think of anything and called Su Ying. “Xiao Ying, help me investigate Xu Wanlan’s background.”

Su Ying was completely different from when she first entered Shi Guang Studio. She had a soft personality, but she was meticulous and could easily make others lower their guard.

Moreover, she was familiar with the people on White’s side. It was not difficult for her to find out about Xu Wanlan.

In the afternoon, Su Ying called back.

“Sister Qingqian, I’ve asked White’s people. Xu Wanlan immigrated to England with her parents when she was young. She doesn’t have many friends in the country, and there’s nothing special about her.”

Lin Qingqian frowned slightly. “Do you know why they migrated?”

“Her parents are researchers. I heard that they were poached by the research institute over there with a high salary.”

Researchers?

That shouldn’t have anything to do with the Jiang family.

“I understand. It’s been hard on you.” Lin Qingqian hung up the phone. The more she thought about it, the more she couldn’t figure it out.

She opened Weibo and looked at the photo. She muttered to herself, “What… is your relationship with the Jiang family?”

Su Ying had just hung up the phone when she looked up and saw Han Liubai standing in front of her. She panicked. “Designer Han.”

Han Liubai’s thin lips curled up slightly, and his voice was calm. “You were on the phone with designer Lin?” Su Ying nodded mechanically.

“How’s her hand?” he asked casually.

“Sh-she’s alright.” Su Ying felt extremely guilty and did not dare to look him in the eye.

Han Liubai smiled. “That’s good. This is Ren Guangxi’s design. Send it to them. If there’s no problem, you can arrange for a fitting.” Su Ying took the documents. “Alright, I’ll contact them now.”

“Thank you.” Han Liubai turned around and returned to his office.

Su Ying put down the documents and heaved a long sigh of relief. She patted her racing heart and wondered, “Why do I feel like a double agent?”

Designer Han wanted her to help him hide his identity, but Sister Qingqian wanted her to investigate the background of Designer Han’s secretary…

What the hell were they doing?

Su Ying looked at Han Liubai’s office and realized that he was looking at her. She forced a smile and quickly lowered her head to pretend to be working.

Han Liubai lowered the curtains, and the light in his eyes gradually turned cold.

He turned around and walked to his desk before picking up his cell phone to make a call. “How’s the investigation on Jiang Yanshen?”

“I just heard Su Ying calling her to investigate you. Perhaps you’ve been noticed. Stop for a while and don’t do anything else.”

After hanging up the phone, he turned around and leaned against the desk, his fingers gripping his cell phone tightly.

If it wasn’t for her, he wouldn’t be so restrained in many things. However, the longer he interacted with her, the more he worried.

In the end, this woman had become the weak spot in his heart that he did not want to touch.

Lin Qingqian recuperated in Begonia Courtyard for a week. Every morning, Jiang Yanshen would personally feed her breakfast before going to work.

He would call back at noon and come back early in the evening to have dinner with her. He would feed her, shower her, and blow dry her hair.

In the beginning, he was still a little unskilled. But after doing it many times, he became more and more proficient and even had some insights.

Lin Qingqian’s hair was blown dry by him, and she couldn’t help but tilt her head to look at him, her bright eyes filled with stars.

“I think even if you don’t remain as the company president in the future, you’ll still be quite professional as a male nanny.”

She was obviously teasing him.

Jiang Yanshen put down the hairdryer, a mischievous smile in his dark eyes. “I think your hand is almost healed.”

Lin Qingqian didn’t understand the meaning behind his words and nodded.

“Yes, so you don’t have to treat me like a cripple anymore.”

Jiang Yanshen’s thin lips curled up slightly. When he lowered his head, he picked her up with both hands and said in a hoarse voice, “Shouldn’t you repay me for taking care of you these few days?”

His gaze was so scorching that Lin Qingqian’s face instantly heated up. She said

guiltily, “Aiyo, my hand still hurts a little…”

“It’s fine!” Jiang Yanshen’s throat moved. He said meaningfully, “I don’t need it anyway…”

The next day, Lin Qingqian was scooped up by Jiang Yanshen early in the morning.

She hadn’t woken up yet, so she lay in his arms like a boneless corpse.

Jiang Yanshen kissed her hair tenderly and coaxed her in a low and hoarse voice, “Grandma wants us to go over now. We can continue sleeping when we come back, okay?”

Lin Qingqian heard the word “Grandma” in a daze and opened her eyes to look at him. “Grandma?”

Jiang Yanshen nodded and gently helped her tidy her slightly messy hair. “She should be returning to Jiang City. She wants to see you before she leaves.”

Lin Qingqian nodded. “Alright, I’ll get up.”

She lifted the blanket weakly. Before she could get out of bed, Jiang Yanshen carried her and walked into the bathroom.

Beside the sink was a basin filled with water, toothpaste, and a towel.

These were all habits that had been preserved for the past week and they did not seem to have any intention of changing.

After Lin Qingqian washed up, Jiang Yanshen carried her back to her room and picked out a simple and elegant suit from the closet. It would be more pleasing to the old lady’s eyes.

In the beginning, she didn’t like it when Jiang Yanshen helped her change. After helping her a few times, she gave up struggling and even started to accept this man’s humble service.

The two of them then rushed to the Jiang residence to have breakfast with Grandma Jiang.

The moment Grandma Jiang saw her, she immediately waved her hand. “Qianqian, come and sit with Grandma.”

Lin Qingqian walked over and sat down. She heard the old lady’s concerned voice ask, “Is your hand better?”

“Grandma, my hand is fine. You don’t have to worry.”

Old Madam Jiang nodded and looked up at the brothers sitting together. With a dignified expression, she said, “I’m old and can’t stand the two of you creating any trouble. Behave yourself in the future and don’t bully Qianqian, understand?”

Jiang Yanshen didn’t retort. “Got it, Grandma.”

Jiang Yunshen’s injuries were much better, and his emotions were much calmer. He glanced at Lin Qingqian, whose face was rosy, and couldn’t help but say, “Who bullied her…”

“Huh?” Before he could finish speaking, the old lady immediately raised her eyebrows and glared at him.

Jiang Yunshen pouted. “Got it, Grandma.”

After breakfast, the servants cleaned up while Lin Qingqian helped the old lady back to her room to rest for a while, leaving the brothers downstairs.

Lin Qingqian then helped the old lady to sit down while Madam Liu carried the packed luggage down, leaving only the two of them in the room.

“Grandma, there’s something I want to tell you.”

Grandma Jiang looked up at her. “Sit down and talk. It’s tiring to raise my head.”

Lin Qingqian sat down beside her and said softly, “Grandma, I heard that you made a will to allocate 15% of the shares to me. Is this true?”

Old Madam Jiang smiled mysteriously. “Jiang Yanshen told you, right?”

Lin Qingqian didn’t deny it and went straight to the point. “Grandma, I don’t want it.”

“Girl, do vou know what this 15% share represents?” Grandma Jiang stared at her and said solemnly, “It means that you don’t have to do anything for the rest of your life and have endless assets.”

“I know.” Lin Qingqian was not moved at all. Her voice was clean and calm. “But I still don’t want it.”

“Why?” Grandma Jiang asked with a frown.

Lin Qingqian’s red lips curled up slightly as she said unhurriedly, “I’m very happy with Jiang Yanshen now, but no one knows what will happen in the future. The Jiang family’s things don’t belong to me.”

Old Madam Jiang was stunned. She looked at her with a complicated and probing gaze. “Qianqian, you’ve changed.”

Lin Qing’s eyelashes, which were as thin as a cicada’s wings, trembled slightly. She did not say anything although she was a little puzzled.

“You’re no longer blindly immersed in love,” Grandma Jiang said meaningfully.

The corners of Lin Qingqian’s lips curled up slightly. “It’s excusable to fall in a pit once. But if I fall again into the same pit, then I’m really hopeless.”

She didn’t deny that she still loved Jiang Yanshen deeply in her heart, but she would no longer treat Jiang Yanshen as the only important thing in her life. She would no longer behave carefully around him and put Jiang Yanshen’s emotions before hers.

Love is about pleasing each other, not a solo performance.

Grandma Jiang nodded in satisfaction. “That’s why I want to give you 15% of the shares.”

Lin Qingqian didn’t understand. “Why?”

Grandma Jiang didn’t explain. She patted her hand and said earnestly, “You’ll understand in the future.”

Before Lin Qingqian could speak again, there was a knock on the door. Jiang Yanshen pushed the door open and entered. “Grandma, everything is ready. ”

Old Madam Jiang nodded. “Qianqian, go and tell Madam Liu to prepare some fruits. I want to eat them on the way.”

Lin Qingqian knew that she had intentionally sent her away. She stood up and exchanged glances with Jiang Yanshen before leaving.

Jiang Yanshen’s gaze followed her back view, the light in his black eyes gentle and lingering.

Grandma Jiang took in everything calmly. “You heard what she said just now, right?”

Jiang Yanshen came back to his senses and looked at the old lady with silver hair…

“Jiang Chongjing is dead, and Wu Suyun is dead. Finally, we can put an end to the matters of the previous generation.” Old Madam Jiang’s mind was solemn as she sighed. “We can’t let the Jiang family continue to be a joke.”

Jiang Yanshen lowered his eyes. “I know what to do.”

Grandma Jiang nodded. “In the future, you and Yunshen have to get along well and support each other. I hope that the next time I come back, it will be you and Qianqian’s wedding banquet..”
