Vol. 7 - Chapter 358 - The friendship between girls is really great~

There used to be a saying in the <Dungeon Activity>; Getting a job isn\'t the ending, rather it\'s just the starting of their long journey.

Actually, there is also a continuation to this saying; A job must be trained to their maximum potential, but not straying from their intended use.

Though, the one who proclaimed were some other people, so don\'t sweat over the strange wording.

However, these proverbs had managed to strike a chord within the players of <Dungeon Activity> for some reason, as they integrated it within themselves seamlessly. There would be no player who wasn\'t aware of this phrase. After all, the same saying has been plastered boldly at the top of strategy site.

That strategy site\'s homepage looked even cooler with its addition in fact, signifying its importance.

Ahem, I derailed from the topic. But anyway, the later part basically means once you\'re done figuring out all the stuff about the job, bring it to use. Albeit, be aware of what you\'re doing.

I know it is obvious, but after investing a considerable amount of time nurturing a character, gamers would obviously want to bring that character in play as soon as possible. So even if the said character is a super-duper specialized build to counter a certain type of opponent, a gamer\'s mind would obviously shift to use it everywhere as possible, too, along with its trial run.

Let\'s say when a trial run is running so smoothly it makes gamers wonder, \'oh my god, amn\'t I invincible\', where would they head next to try when that rush of euphoric sensation washed over them? Yes, the next stage would be a boss fight. And the result, they would get their asses whooped by the bosses.

It was a no-brainer, they obviously forget that character wasn\'t built to fight that boss. This is what the later part \'but not straying from their intended use\' was referring to. Just use the specialized build against the opponent it has been made for!

Imagine painstakingly creating a character only to suffer a crushing defeat during debut. I have seen many scenes where players look like walking undead, as if their souls have left their body from the shock.

To put it in analogy, it\'s like meticulously crafting a model airplane, attempting its maiden flight, only to mess up in controlling its direction and causing it to crash into a tree and get completely wrecked.

And then, the said players would wonder why it happened when they made sure it is undoubtedly strong when pitied against the opponent it was created for.

Well, unlike plastic models, players can bring the character to life once again by healing, but that doesn\'t erase away the shock they have experienced. They would have to pass the three years in <Dungeon Activity> while bearing the fact that their hard-trained character suffered a humiliating loss.

In the early days where the concept of <Training Manual> had just spread out, players, who witnessed the temporary rising in such situations, immediately became alert to not become another example.

Learn from other mistakes they say huh; it\'s for that reason why my strongest training manual doesn\'t include strategy about specialized abilities except bare minimum. There were just a few scenes where specialized builds actually shine. My character strategy was based on the motto \'master of one, but jack of all trade\'.

Min-Maxing is the player\'s biggest enemy. Do that, and you will be done for, quite splendidly too!

Cough, let\'s return to the main topic.

Anyway, I taught them about which job would fit well in which situation through all this, and also spoke about the story of failures, horror of getting swept in emotions.

There were plenty of such failure stories in <Dungeon Activity>.

"I earnestly hope you guys learn from these failures and avoid imitating this."

I said to everyone while holding back tears of frustration in my heart.

Please, everyone, try not to make the same mistakes we did. (Sniffle). With this, my 4th elective class came to an end.

As soon as the class and question-answer time was over, a group of certain girls gathered in one spot.

"Phew. Zephyr-kun today kind of made my heart skip more than usual."

"Oh, I can relate. I feel this slight melancholic vibe coming from him."

"The melancholic expression in contrast to his usual cheerfulness was seriously captivating."

"I know right!"

"Hmm, his sorrowful tone as he spoke about the failure stories was seriously bad for my heart. I even ended up writing down some wild ideas along with lacture\'s details in my notebook. It\'s a mystery, I don\'t remember writing it down seriously."

"Isn\'t it simple? You must have written during class! And what\'s with that, my story is far more better."

"Oh, are we competing? Let me participate too."

"Gradually making progress with Brave-kun who swooped down to help me after my failure.......?"

"Huh? Shouldn\'t it be the reverse? I, who cheered up the Brave-kun drowning in his failure, and from there started the story between us------"

"Who cares which situation is which! I have an idea, let\'s compile all of them into a fan book!"

"Have some modesty, you girls. This is the auditorium, you know."

"Still, those failure stories sound so lifelike. I wonder if that actually happened"

"There\'s no way, or so I want to say, but it\'s Brave-kun we are talking about, so......"

"What? You think so?"

"But there are lots of people who have been forgotten after they failed in training their jobs despite having high-ranking jobs. Brave-kun has a solid grasp of this fact I think."

"To be honest, I am kinda glad for all this, with so many examples and detailed explanations. It\'s going to be immensely helpful."

"Even if you do a new beginning, you can\'t turn back the time huh, Brave-kun had said it with a heavy heart."

"We must make sure to not betray the expectation of Brave-kun."

"You\'re right. Shall we hold another study session? There would be hardly any room for error if we all 45 people work together/"

"I support it. Also, there\'s something I want to hear about as well. Like how was the interview for <Eden>."

"Fufufu. We are going to see a lot of blood soon."

"Well, not that blood will actually come with the blessing of HP."

"Come on, that was just a metaphor. Still, it is really enviable to be a part of Brave-kun\'s guild."

"But we\'re talking about a subordinate guild, right? Many are nowhere near the great nobles in terms of ability."

"Besides, there is no guarantee they will become regular from substitute. Those who are willing to give up their current positions to join are truly remarkable."

"Ugh...... you\'re right. We still have considerable potential and if we keep going, we\'re likely to become main members of the guild\'s first team. Those who can let go of that opportunity must be truly exceptional."

"I was lost if I should apply or not, and eventually did not."

"Well, the recruitment for this time was basically for a subordinate guild after all, so hesitation is natural."

"The ones who applied are true fans of Brave-kun. Let\'s bless those who managed to pass."

"You\'re right. Let\'s gather later and hold a small party to send them off to their dream guild."

"Hey-Hey, the results aren\'t out though!?"
