Chapter 124: Profile Picture
Chapter 124: Profile Picture
What he had said was a modified version of the modified version of a creed that he usually recited to himself whenever he was tired from training.
The original was an advertisement for a betting company, but Jason had modified it to be directed at himself since it was something easy to remember.
So whenever he was tired or unmotivated to continue training, he recited it to himself and was motivated and since it was also quite comical, it also helped to lift Jason’s mood as he would usually end up remembering funny things that could help him deal with a bit of mental stress, after which he would continue his training.
Thus he understood… but also didn’t understand why they were laughing… if that was a thing.
All in all, he was a bit confused, but he didn’t want to dwell on it and as soon as he saw that their laughter had reduced, he asked Dennis again,
“So, how about it? Of course, there will be ample monetary compensation should you agree,” he added.
“Sure, I’ll do it, also you don’t have to pay me, just give me permission to use this on my channel,” Dennis replied.“What?” Jason asked confused.
“I’m still recording,” Dennis said while pointing to the mini camera that was hanging on his lapel.
“Wha!” Jason and Adele were a bit alarmed, but looking back at everything that had happened, neither of them had said anything inappropriate so there shouldn’t be a problem with letting Dennis upload a video of their meeting.
After exchanging meaningful glances with Adele and a full eye contact conversation later, Jason finally agreed to Dennis’s proposal to use the video of them together as a payment for the photo shoot.
“You’d have to hurry up, I don’t want us to be interrupted by someone who recognizes me,” Jason suddenly mentioned, remembering that it would be a bit of a pain to deal with fans if he was recognized at this moment, especially now that Covid-19 was flying around so Jason was doing his best to stay away from any crowded areas, even if the place was filled with his fans.
Speaking of which, it was already a bit strange that he wasn’t recognized by anyone yet even though he was currently standing out in the open without anything to disguise him apart from his glasses and his clothing as he had not yet put on the mask that he had taken off inside the restaurant.
How was Jason to know that his current outfit and his dark glasses were all he needed to disguise himself almost perfectly among the crowd and no one would notice him unless they checked carefully?
Jason’s current outfit fitted a young business mogul more than a young athlete and the dark glasses that covered his very distinctive sapphire colored-eyes did more than enough to completely throw off any non-diehard Porto fans.
Only the die-hard Rose Dragon fans would be able to recognize Jason and even for them, it wouldn’t be so easy.
“Oh, you’re famous?” Dennis who wasn’t a football fan and had never seen Jason before was a bit surprised to hear that Jason had some fame.
“I mean, I wouldn’t say that I’m famous, but quite a few people would recognize me if I took my glasses off,” Jason replied, remembering the conversation he had with the cashier at the grocery store a few days ago.
“Oh, that’s nice,” Dennis replied, not knowing what Jason’s words actually meant and simply taking them at face value.
“Okay, let’s get it,” Jason clapped his hands, indicating that they should quickly take the picture and get on with their days.
He didn’t know about them, but he wasn’t about to spend his whole day trying to take a profile picture.
Dennis and Adele understood the urgency and quickly started moving, with Adele getting out of the way and Dennis getting into position to capture the moment.
“Should I be doing some pose or something?”Jason asked, not sure of what he should be doing at the moment.
“Just do whatever comes to mind, with a face like yours, it isn’t possible to take a bad picture anyway,” Dennis replied.
“See, I told you, It is scientifically impossible for you to take a bad picture,” Adele said from the side.
“Shut up,” Jason shot back at Adele.
“I have to say, I agree with her on this one,” Dennis said with his eye on the camera lens.
“Just shut up and take the fu**ing pictures, dude,” Jason rolled his eyes in annoyance at these two idiots(in his opinion).
From then on the sounds of clicking shutters filled the area.
“Hey, should I take off my glasses to get a better picture,” Jason asked, suddenly remembering that the glasses were covering a quarter of his face.
“Sure… If you want to,” Dennis replied to Jason.
“Okay,” Jason muttered and pulled off his glasses with his right hand, meanwhile Dennis never stopped taking pictures even as he did so.
After a few more minutes Jason spoke up,
“Okay, that’s enough,” he was already tired from standing so going along with Dennis’s whims that had shown up and was directing him to try different annoying poses.
“Here are the pictures,” Dennis operated the camera and started showing Jason and Adele the newly captured pictures on the camera’s screen.
The pictures were quite a lot, and at one point, Jason just stopped looking at the pictures and gave his email address to Dennis and told him to send over the pictures and he would pick the one to use as a profile picture later.
With the matter of the picture over, Jason said his goodbyes and quickly got into his car before driving off, while Adele and Dennis parted ways despite Dennis’s attempts at trying to get Adele’s contact details.
