Chapter 34 - Compared to Being a Boss, Bullying with Power Feels So Much Better!

Although Bai Zhou had never been part of an organization like this, he had read enough novels to understand.

Even though Ma Dezhong’s influence was based in Hancheng, his power should not be underestimated. Indeed, several of the men Ma Dezhong had brought with him were already pointing at least ten guns at Bai Zhou.

Bai Zhou was certain that if he shot Ma Dezhong’s son, the next second he’d be turned into Swiss cheese.

Just as Bai Zhou was about to shift the situation, something unexpected happened—something even Bai Zhou hadn’t anticipated.

“Damn it! Who dares touch my brother?!”

This shout came from none other than Li Yonggang, who had been supported by a few of his underlings.

He suddenly burst free from their support, pulled out two guns from one of his subordinates, and positioned himself right next to Bai Zhou. Both guns were now aimed at Ma Dezhong’s men.

Even Bai Zhou hadn’t expected this scene!

That’s right, he didn’t realize that Li Yonggang already considered him a brother.  Clearly, Bai Zhou’s earlier words, which provoked the other side into hitting Li Yonggang even harder, had been taken by Li Yonggang as proof of true brotherhood!

Especially when Li Yonggang saw Bai Zhou apparently risking his life to “save” him with two guns pointed at his head.

Li Yonggang was moved!

Tsk tsk tsk …

Bai Zhou wanted to say, “Actually … you misunderstood.”

But would he say that? Seeing that even the young master had drawn his guns, Li Tai’s men quickly followed suit!

Although Li Yonggang’s subordinates weren’t armed, Li Yonggang’s father’s men were a different story!

In an instant, the situation escalated into a standoff with guns drawn on both sides. Things were about to spiral out of control.

Ma Dezhong looked at Li Tai and said: “Li Tai, you’re an experienced man. Does this situation look good to you?”

It wasn’t a matter of appearances anymore.

Just as Li Tai was about to speak, Bai Zhou spoke up first: “Who hit our young master earlier?”

“Huh?” Everyone around was momentarily taken aback by Bai Zhou’s question.

They all turned to look at him.

No matter who had hit Li Yonggang, it was under Ma Dezhong’s son’s orders.

So, why ask this now …? Oh!! In an instant, many of those who figured it out had a sudden realization!

One of Ma Dezhong’s underlings, the one who had turned Li Yonggang’s face into a pig’s head, began trembling violently.

With a thud, he dropped to his knees. He stepped forward, grabbing Ma Dezhong’s son’s leg, crying and snotting: “Young master!! Young master, you’re the one who ordered me to hit him! Young master!”

“It has nothing to do with me!”

“Young master, you must—” his voice abruptly stopped, drowned out by gunshots.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Three shots in total!

“Ah!!” Zhou Siyun, witnessing such a scene for the first time, screamed in terror, covering her mouth.

Her wide eyes stared at Bai Zhou in fear.

At this moment, Bai Zhou’s face was expressionless. His body slightly turned to the side, not even glancing at the scene ahead. The faint white smoke wafted from the gun in his hand. This muscle memory for shooting was something Bai Zhou inherited from the original character in the novel.

In reality, he had turned his body away because he didn’t want to see what had just happened. He was afraid that he might not be able to hold back the urge to vomit, which would definitely ruin the image he was trying to maintain.

There was only one person present who reacted differently—Ye Qiantong!

She covered her mouth, staring at Bai Zhou in shock. However, her eyes gleamed with excitement, and, surprisingly, there was even a hint of affection! It seemed that she was actually attracted to this ruthless side of Bai Zhou.

Her heart pounded wildly, her legs pressed tightly together, trembling slightly.

The scene was utterly silent.

Bai Zhou handed the gun, which had just fired three shots, back to Li Tai with both hands and said: “Boss, the matter is settled.”

Li Tai’s eyes flickered slightly as he looked at Bai Zhou.

Now he understood. He hadn’t misjudged Bai Zhou at first; he had misjudged him just a moment ago. Bai Zhou wasn’t a reckless fool.

When Bai Zhou said, “Death,” he wasn’t referring to Ma Dezhong’s son but to that underling. He had deliberately phrased it that way to send a warning to Ma Dezhong and his son!

Standing behind Li Tai, Zhou Yuntian’s eyes also lit up as he looked at Bai Zhou.

Even the once enraged Ma Dezhong had a look of newfound understanding as he gazed at Bai Zhou.

The silence at the scene lingered for a while.

It was Ma Dezhong who spoke first: “Li Tai, I’ll remember what happened today.”

After all, the person who was killed was one of his underlings. Even if it was just for appearances, he had to throw out some harsh words!

Li Tai understood this all too well, so he replied with his own: “Ma Dezhong, remember, if you ever come to Magic City, you’d better keep a low profile!”

Then, with a wave of his hand, the subordinates behind him slowly made way for a path.

Ma Dezhong waved his hand as well: “Let’s go!”

The men following Ma Dezhong were already terrified by what had happened to their companion. Although they knew that doing this job meant such a day would eventually come, that man hadn’t done anything wrong! He was simply following orders from his boss.

But, what can you do when you’re just a lowly subordinate? Bai Zhou was fully aware of this too. He admitted that the guy was innocent.

But this was … the harsh reality.

Just like when he had first transmigrated. If he hadn’t known the plot ahead of time, he would’ve ended up just like that guy.

Survival of the fittest—this was why everyone wanted to be the boss.

However … Bai Zhou thought differently. He just wanted his boss to grow more and more powerful. As his boss’s lackey, wouldn’t that make him shine by association?

Hehehe …

Compared to being the boss, Bai Zhou found that he enjoyed bullying with power much more!
