As it had happened before, Noah received information on his skill.
Telekinesis, as unlocked by Noah\'s weapon Nemesis, is the ability to manipulate objects with his mind. This means Noah can move things around him without physically touching them.
Range and Strength: The range and strength of Noah\'s telekinesis will depend on several factors. In the beginning, it might be limited to moving small objects like pebbles or twigs over short distances. As he trains and strengthens his bond with Nemesis, the range and weight of objects he can manipulate will increase.
Precision and Finesse: Telekinesis isn\'t just about brute force. Noah can also use it with delicate precision, picking locks, maneuvering objects through tight spaces, or even deflecting projectiles.
Limitations: There will likely be limitations to Noah\'s telekinesis, he was aware of this. Very large or heavy objects might be beyond his current capabilities. Additionally, the material of the object could play a role, with some materials being more resistant to mental manipulation.
Noah gently stroked his chin, his mind brimming with the countless possibilities that his newfound ability, telekinesis, held. He envisioned a multitude of practical applications for this remarkable skill.
Disarming an enemy: Imagine a tense standoff where Noah, with a flick of his mind, rips the weapon from his opponent\'s grasp, leaving them defenseless.
Sending a monster flying: During a fight with a monstrous creature, Noah could use a burst of telekinetic force to send it crashing through the trees, creating an opening for an attack.
Solving puzzles: In ancient ruins or forgotten tombs (Dungeons), telekinesis could be used to manipulate levers, activate hidden mechanisms, or bridge gaps, helping Noah progress through these challenges.
Scouting ahead: Noah could use telekinesis to send small objects, like pebbles or stones, around corners or through dense foliage, allowing him to get a sense of what lies ahead without directly exposing himself to danger.
So many thoughts swirling in his mind, Noah decided to experiment with a few of them today before departing. A new idea had sparked within him, one that he was determined to put to the test. Aware of the toll it would take on his mana and mental energy, he realized that bolstering his mana would become his top priority.
He set his sights on achieving a milestone - to push his Mana stat beyond 100 points, just like his Strength and Dexterity stats.
Noah noticed that his current mana reserve was below half its capacity, but he knew it wouldn\'t be sufficient for the upcoming mission. Reluctant to waste a precious mana recovery potion, he opted for a natural solution - giving himself an hour to allow his mana to naturally replenish. With that in mind, Noah decided to take a brief break, allowing himself to relax and enjoy a satisfying hamburger.
The last bite of the juicy burger vanished, and as Noah savored the taste, a surge of renewed energy surged through his body. The sunlight filtering through the leaves took on a vibrant glow, and the gentle breeze carried a captivating melody that seemed to beckon him towards new adventures.
Noah stretched, feeling the tension melt away from his muscles, and with a sense of contentment, he checked his mental gauge. A satisfied smile graced his face as he discovered that his mana had replenished to a comfortable level.
He rose to his feet, his gaze drawn towards the darker recesses of the Whisperwood, where his mission awaited him. The mysterious aura of the forest called out to him, urging him to embark on his next adventure.
Noah\'s boots crunched softly on the forest floor as he ventured deeper into the unknown. The sunlight, filtered by the dense canopy, gradually faded, leaving behind an eerie twilight. The air was heavy with the scent of damp earth and decay, a stark contrast to the comforting aroma of the burger he had devoured earlier.
Every rustle of leaves, every snap of a twig sent a jolt of alertness through his veins.
After half an hour of trekking, the rustling noises escalated, transforming into distinct guttural growls and heavy footsteps. Noah instinctively crouched low, his hand tightening around the hilt of his trusted weapon, Nemesis. Through the dense undergrowth, he caught sight of a group of figures lumbering towards him. His breath hitched in his throat. Orcs.
There were three of them, towering figures with broad shoulders and stooped postures. Their leathery, green skin bore scars, and their eyes glowed like burning embers in the gloom, radiating predatory hunger. Each orc brandished a wickedly curved cleaver, the metal glinting ominously in the dim light.
Noah\'s heart pounded against his ribs, not out of fear, but out of exhilaration.
"It seems like playtime is over," he murmured, his voice barely a whisper, tinged with a touch of madness. Taking a deep breath, he rose to his feet, stepping out from behind the cover of the trees. The orcs halted, their beady eyes fixated on him. In that tense moment, they stood frozen, creating a silent tableau in the heart of the Whisperwood.
Then, with a guttural roar, one of the orcs charged, its cleaver raised high.
The hunt had begun.
A wicked grin spread across Noah\'s face, the shadows of the Whisperwood accentuating the sinister glint in his eyes. These orcs, these low-level mobs, would pose no significant threat. Not anymore. Today, he possessed a secret weapon - a weapon not just forged of steel, but of the power of his mind.
With a subtle flick of his wrist, unnoticed by the charging orc, Noah unleashed his newfound telekinetic abilities. The orc\'s hefty cleaver, poised for a devastating strike, suddenly defied gravity. Confusion briefly clouded the beast\'s face as its weapon twisted and turned in mid-air. The momentum of its charge propelled it forward, but without its weapon, its attack became a clumsy stumble.
The other two orcs, witnessing their comrade\'s peculiar mishap, bellowed in surprise and fury. However, before they could react, Noah launched his next assault. Focusing his mind on a large rock partially buried in the forest floor, he channeled his power. The rock, seemingly under its own volition, erupted from the ground, propelled by an unseen force.
It soared through the air, a brown blur against the green backdrop, and crashed forcefully into the chest of the nearest orc.
"Graa!"
A strangled grunt escaped the creature\'s lips as it was sent hurtling backward, colliding with a nearby tree with a sickening thud. The third orc, the one who had stumbled after losing its cleaver, roared in fury. It charged, fueled by primal rage.
Noah, emboldened by his initial success, met the charge head-on. Nemesis hummed coldly in his grasp, a silent assurance of power. As the orc swung its remaining cleaver, Noah once again focused his telekinesis. This time, he envisioned the orc\'s leg contorting at an unnatural angle.
Krack!
A bone-chilling crack reverberated through the forest as the orc\'s knee buckled beneath it. The creature let out a shriek of agony, collapsing onto the damp earth. It struggled to rise, but its leg hung limply, unmistakably broken. Noah observed it for a moment, a calculating expression replacing the earlier thrill. These weren\'t humans, not truly.
They were monsters, threats that needed to be neutralized.
With a final flick of his wrist, he sent a small pebble hurtling through the air.
Swoosh! Puk!
The pebble struck the injured orc squarely on the forehead, rendering it unconscious. The final orc, the one disarmed by Noah\'s telekinesis, lay sprawled at the base of a tree, whimpering. Noah approached cautiously, Nemesis poised and ready. The creature flinched at every step, fear now evident in its eyes, a stark contrast to its earlier aggression.
"Well, well! This is even more enjoyable than I anticipated," he remarked, his voice calm yet resolute but it couldn\'t hide a certain air of madness deep within.
\'\'!!"
The orc let out another whimper, its guttural language incomprehensible. A shiver ran down the orc\'s spine, sending chills throughout its body.
Suddenly, a different kind of tension filled the air, crackling with energy. Noah raised his blade, Nemesis, and the chilling aura that radiated from it grew stronger in the dim light. There was no time for hesitation. Leaving a wounded orc behind could attract more danger.
With determination in his eyes, Noah unleashed one of his sword skills - The Splitting Ripple Slash. He had practiced this move countless times, ingraining the motions into his muscle memory. As if anticipating his command, Nemesis hummed with power, its form shimmering faintly.
Noah lunged forward, his movements a blur of focused energy. It was time to send the monster on its way.
