Chapter 99: Mark (4)

"Hmm, not bad." Lu Zhen nodded his head with a satisfied expression.

"Hey, wake up." He said as he lightly slapped Lu Zhi.

However, Lu Zhen frowned when he saw that he didn\'t wake up even after this.

Lu Zhen had a smirk on his face as he again slapped him, but this time he used a little more strength.

Boom!

A resounding boom sounded in the room as dust from the floor flew up in the air.

Ah!

Lu Zhi cried painfully as he flailed around as he tightly caught his cheeks, which were already inflated red.

"So are you awake now?"

"You..." Lu Zhi looked at the hulking figure of Lu Zhen, flabbergasted.

"Why did you knock me out?" He asked with a confused expression on his face as he tried to calm down to relieve himself of the searing pain he felt in his cheeks.

"Did you really think I would trust you two to stay loyal to me, sensing the malicious thoughts from you?" Lu Zhen\'s face morphed into a sneer.

"If it was previously, I would let you go. However, since I have something that will be quite useful for my endeavor…" Lu Zhen paused as he looked at Lu Zhi.

"Sigh. Bastard, what about my sister then?"

"Well, since I haven\'t felt any malicious intent from her, I will spare her. However, if I do…" Lu Zhen\'s sneer widened. He always considered those who attacked him as his enemies, no matter who they were. As long as they showed hostility towards him, he considered how to deal with them.

You can call him petty and narrow-minded, but that\'s how he was!

"You can feel it, right?" Lu Zhen\'s eyes glinted as he pointed at him.

"No," Lu Zhi said. However, he had a bad premonition, and suddenly his eyes went blank as he screamed.

Ah!

Lu Zhen quickly let go of the string, and the painful scream of Lu Zhi stopped.

"You know now, right?"

"You bastard…" Lu Zhi screamed as his face morphed into pure anger.

"Why?"

"Do you really think I am stupid? Will I keep someone who has malicious intent as my subordinate and can potentially stab me in the back in the future?" Lu Zhen\'s eyes turned cold as he asked.

Suddenly, upon hearing this, Lu Zhi fell silent, his snarky demeanor giving way to uncertainty.

"Kukuku... kill me then. Since you haven\'t killed me until now, it means you have plans for me, right?" Lu Zhi\'s voice wavered as he confronted the situation.

"So, you can\'t kill me."

Lu Zhen, however, wore an amused expression upon his face as he replied, "When did I say I was going to kill you?" His eyes sparkled with a peculiar light as he stared at Lu Zhi.

"Eh, then what do you want?" Lu Zhi inquired, still puzzled.

"You see, since I\'ve just refined this thing," Lu Zhen revealed his tattoo, showing it to Lu Zhi.

Lu Zhi\'s eyes widened as he beheld the pitch-black butterfly tattoo. It appeared so dark that it seemed to absorb all light, resembling a void.

"So, let\'s start the experiment. If you can\'t survive this, I have a plan that will ensure Lu Qing still follows me. However, if you live," Lu Zhen paused, a sly smirk forming, "it\'s even better."

He said as he carried Lu Zhi, who now had horror-stricken eyes, having shifted from a glimmer of hope to helplessness.

Li Nan\'s eyes widened as she observed what Lu Zhen was doing to Lu Zhi, and she felt chills run down her spine.

Her back went cold with sweat as her horrified expression intensified with every passing moment.

"I wonder what the young master is doing to make so much noise," Little Lily mused, pacing around the room. The screams emanating from the room Lu Zhen had entered, along with the previous booming sounds, left her feeling restless.

However, Lu Zhen had instructed her not to allow anyone to enter, regardless of the sounds coming from the room.

"Just ignore it," Lu Zhen had told her as he made his way toward the room.

"Sigh, I should practice more to be even more helpful to the young master," Little Lily thought to herself. She retrieved a paste from her pouch, one that was red in color with dark streaks mixed in.

"This should be helpful for my cultivation, right?" She thought to herself. This was a gift that Lu Zhen had casually given to Li Nan, who said to cultivate it with the cultivation technique.

She took hold of a weapon that resembled a sword, but it was distinctively different. The blade measured approximately 70 centimeters in length, and it possessed a subtle, elegant curve.

The blade surface was intricately carved with a unique pattern, and the hand guard was crafted with two metals.

The hilt was wrapped in supple, deep black leather. At the end of the hilt was a small, circular pommel, which was used for balance.

As she held the katana, she could feel the comfortable and secure grip.

It was basically a katana.

"Not bad," she nodded her head as she began to practice with the katana.

First, she retracted the katana into its scabbard, taking a deep breath.

"Let\'s start," she said, and with lightning speed, she drew the saber from its sheath.

The moment it was unsheathed, she executed a horizontal strike with incredible swiftness, the blade cutting through the air in a fluid slicing motion.

Then, smoothly transitioning to her next move, the katana descended in a vertical slash, its edge descending like a guillotine. If any mortal man had been here, he would have been sliced in half by her katana.

She immediately retracted the katana and thrust forward like a viper\'s strike, stabbing the air with unerring accuracy.

She practiced the basics of these steps diligently until she became familiar with them.
