Chapter 825 Four Pillars: An Unexpected Visitor
Then, thinking about how much time she had spent honing her understanding over both Shadow Energy and mana, she decided that she would spend a couple years in Veldanyr to get more used to the energy she had just created.
However, just like her previous trip to Veldanyr that got extended, this trip to Veldanyr had been extended as well.
Though, instead of being extended to around half a decade yet again…
It was extended to half a century.
Then again, it was not like the 50 years she had spent in Veldanyr weren\'t fruitful.
Having spent over 150 years within the Shadow Plane at this point, it went without saying that Sellifer\'s control and knowledge over Shadow Energy was pretty high, even among her peers thanks to the inheritance. n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
In comparison, she had only spent half a decade in Veldanyr so far, which could also be interpreted as her only having that much time to get familiar with mana.
By spending half a century on Veldanyr, Sellifer was able to bring not only her control over mana up, but also her understanding of the concept of mana itself.
Because of that, the quality of her Azure Trace improved, now giving her the feeling as if there was a bit of heft into the energy itself.
At the same time, she had polished her skills over those 50 years, earning her a few nicknames and titles that had something to do with the ferocious yet boundless azure light she made use of.
But if one were to ask her at that time on what her greatest improvement was during those 50 years…
Then that would be none other than her Force.
Having gone through a series of epiphanies after secluding herself in the inheritance, Sellifer was able to form a Force that focused on a concept that fused Shadow Energy and mana together.
By obtaining more and more information on mana, as well as understanding the intricacies that went behind the energy itself, Sellifer was able to gradually balance the amount of knowledge she had on both energies.
At some point, her Force underwent a natural upgrade, ascending to a level that even she had only seen once in another Legend.
Once she had reached this point, she attempted to devise a method to complete her atavism once more.
Only this time, she had made far more progress than she had ever made in her previous attempts.
If one were to consider the progress she had made so far in achieving a successful atavism to be around 20%, then this attempt had single-handedly brought that progress bar to around 70%.
Making use of all of the experience and knowledge she had accrued in over 200 years of her life, Sellifer felt that the remaining steps to her achieving a successful atavism was pushing both Shadow Energy and mana to 1st Metamorphosis.
With that in mind, she returned to the Shadow Plane, only to appear outside the temple that housed the inheritance she was inheriting.
Confused as she realized where she appeared, Sellifer faintly shrugged her shoulders as she proceeded to enter the temple.
Only to stop after a being appeared in front of her.
"Wait… who\'s that?" Looking at the sight before them, Valyr began to frown as he noticed that any attempts he did at viewing the other being ended up becoming a blurry mess.
In response, Sellifer wryly smiled as she noticed how hazy the other being was in her sights as well.
However, as what they were looking at came from her memory, she undoubtedly knew who appeared before her.
"The being that appeared before me…" Sellifer said, prompting Valyr to look at her. "Is considered a holy figure among the Shadow Serpents."
"Though she goes by many names, she is commonly known as the Serpent Maiden."
"Or as the Saintess of the Shadow Plane."
As those words left Sellifer\'s mouth, Valyr could stare at her with a dumbfounded expression.
After all, what had she done to catch the attention of such a famous figure within the Shadow Plane?
\'Speaking of saintess, wasn\'t Mystia called the Saintess of the Mystic Plane?\' briefly thought Valyr as the idea came to mind, only to discard the thought not long after.
Returning his attention to what was going on, Valyr watched as the Sellifer below and the blurred being begin to talk about something.
Fortunately, unlike her appearance, the Serpent Maiden\'s words weren\'t censored out at all, allowing Valyr to find out the reason why she had appeared in front of Sellifer.
Surprisingly, the reason had something to do with the Azure Trace Sellifer had created.
According to the Serpent Maiden, at the very moment Sellifer had successfully fused mana and Shadow Energy into a higher form of energy, the Shadow Plane had strengthened their connection with the main universe.
Though she had no clue what those words meant, there was one thing Sellifer was certain of during that conversation.
And that was the fact that she would be rewarded.
And rewarded, she was.
Out of nowhere, the Serpent Maiden had presented Sellifer with the methods necessary to enter atavism with her unique abilities.
Then, while Sellifer was still trying to process what was going on, the Serpent Maiden left a few parting words before eventually disappearing.
"Once again, thank you."
As those words continued to linger in her mind, Sellifer stood in place for a bit as she looked at the instructions she had been given to achieve a successful atavism.
Taking a few deep breaths to compose herself, she then made her way into the temple, only for the sight before both Valyr and Sellifer to turn dark.
Seeing that the world surrounding them had returned to the darkness that greeted him at the start, a faint hint of confusion appeared on the young man\'s face. "Wait… what happened next?"
"What else?" Understanding that this was her cue, Sellifer stood up and began to do a few light stretches. "I entered the temple, did the steps in the method I was given and successfully achieved atavism."
"That… sounds anticlimactic," said Valyr in response, finding it a shame that he had not been given the opportunity to watch a being undergo atavism.
"Why would you want to watch someone else\'s attempt at atavism, though?" asked Sellifer back as she continued with her warm-up. "It\'s not like you\'d glean something from it, considering the vast difference in our species."
"In any case, now that you\'ve seen how I\'ve eventually come to harness the power of Azure Energy…"
"It\'s time for you to do the same as well.
