Chapter 1176 Two Days of Work
Heading to the far end of the shop he built, Valyr let out a slight chuckle as he briefly thought back to the idea he had to partition his shop into two areas during the building process.
Thinking about how much time he\'d be spending forging pieces of equipment for hours on end, the young man inwardly thanked his foresight as he went ahead and took out all of the forging equipment in his spatial bracelet.
Then, arranging them in a layout that resembled the private workshop he often used back at the Blacksmith Guild, he then went ahead and cast a barrier of energy around it to muffle the noises people would hear from outside.
"I should take the time to reinforce the walls for this part of the shop next time," muttered Valyr to himself as he thought out loud.
"But for the meantime… this will do."
Swoosh!
Taking out the Hammer of Beginnings from his spatial bracelet, Valyr went ahead and took out a couple of the piles of materials he\'d requested from the Blacksmith Guild and placed them near the furnace.
After that, he went ahead and activated [Ephemeral Limbs of the First Blacksmith], deciding that the first few items he\'d be forging were a few more extra anvils and forging hammers he could use during the forging process.
"Honestly, the Blacksmith Guild probably wouldn\'t have minded if I asked for some anvils and forging hammers," said Valyr to himself as he began to chuck items into the scorching hot furnace. "After all, Julian already knows why I\'d need them."
"Then again…" Gazing at the Hammer of Beginnings he wielded, the young man let out a slight chuckle soon after. "I guess it\'s only right that I have to start matching the quality of items that I use."
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
Taking out some of the materials that had gotten up to temperature with the help of the translucent arms, Valyr swiftly activated both [Vision of the First Blacksmith] and [Hunter\'s Tracking Eyes] as he began molding the materials into his desired shapes.
An anvil and a forging hammer.
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
Having no reason to hold back on his forging speed anymore, it went without saying that it did not take long for Valyr to complete the two items, even going so far as to find the additional steps he used on other equipment unnecessary for them.
After all, with how simple the production method was for both the anvil and the forging hammer, it would only take him around half an hour in total to forge both of them.
Yet, because of the skills he had active, that time had doubled.
However, once he took a look at the items he\'d created with [Superior Analysis], such dismissive thoughts immediately disappeared from his mind without a trace. "On second thought, I\'ll keep forging those things this way."
Though the stats of the two items were nothing to write home about, the passive abilities the items gained thanks to Valyr\'s additional effort was more than enough to make it worth it.
Then again, that didn\'t mean the final rarity of the items weren\'t anything substantial either.
"Epic+ grade, huh…" Placing the newly forged anvil and hammer to his side, the young man went ahead and split the translucent arms he created, deciding to have three pairs of arms work on each anvil.
"Guess I still have a bit more work to do before actually getting started." Seeing that he still had to forge two more anvils and a lot more forging hammers to satisfy the needs he had in mind, Valyr let out a slight chuckle as he controlled the arms to take out more materials from the furnace.
At the same time, he went ahead and activated a skill he rarely used during forging, considering that the last time he used it was back when he was forging a lot of equipment for Astarto\'s monster tide.
"[Zen: First Lotus Step]."
Whoosh!
With his expression becoming tranquil, the young man soon let out a drawn-out exhale as he placed the materials he brought out onto the two anvils he now had. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Then, without hesitation, he got to work.
…
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
Although Valyr conjured a barrier of energy around his shop at first, by the time he\'d become engrossed in forging thanks to [Zen: First Lotus Step], the young man\'s control over the barrier gradually waned over time.
With that, the harsh sounds of metal banging against metal eventually began to echo throughout the entirety of Daffors Village, causing many to pass by Valyr\'s shop with frowns on their faces.
Then again, just as there were those who became annoyed by the sound, there were also those who became curious because of it, wanting to know what the young man was doing exactly.
"…As the village\'s blacksmith, this is the first time I\'ve heard a blacksmith hammer this fast while forging." Standing at the forefront of the small crowd near the shop, a middle-aged man in a leather apron stared at the building with a slight frown on his face before looking at the man beside him.
"Are you sure he\'s not just making this much noise for show?"
"Who knows?" At the man\'s question, William could only shrug his shoulders. "You did tell me that blacksmiths have their own ways and styles on how they approach forging equipment."
"That\'s true, but…" The man nodded before pointing at Valyr\'s shop. "Do you really think there exists a forging method that creates this much noise?"
"Well… I do agree that the noise has been a nuisance for some of the people." Letting out a slight sigh at his words, William eventually mustered up the courage to enter the shop to see what was going on.
Unsurprisingly, the blacksmith also decided to accompany William into the shop, curious as to whether or not the famed Ylvar he\'d been hearing about was a person that lived up to his reputation.
Seeing as the curiosity of the other people accompanying them did not reach the same level as theirs, the two were forced to enter Valyr\'s shop on their own, only to be greeted by a sight that immediately left the two of them at a complete loss for words.
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
Wielding what looked to be a dozen forging hammers of total, the young man in front of them maintained a tranquil expression as the multiple pairs of translucent arms surrounding him worked on various parts of a piece of equipment.
Then again, even Valyr himself was in the midst of forging, seemingly taking on the step of combining the parts that were created on the other anvils together while also removing the imperfections that arose.
"This is…" Although they did not entirely understand what was going on, both William and the blacksmith could tell that they were currently looking at a style of blacksmithing that went far beyond what they commonly knew.
In fact, the blacksmith began to stand in place due to the sight that was in front of them, realizing at some point that he was witnessing the work of a blacksmith that had achieved a far higher level of blacksmithing than he did.
Because of that, all of the complaints he said earlier, as well as the ones he kept for himself, gradually vanished without a trace the more he watched Valyr forge items through his peculiar forging style.
Though, before the man could further continue to appreciate the effort Valyr put into his craft, William forced him to snap back to reality.
Looking back at him with a slight frown in response, the blacksmith soon let out a faint sigh as he understood the actions of their village leader.
"I suppose we\'ve gotten our answer." Glancing at the young man before them forge items for just a bit more, both William and the blacksmith eventually left Valyr\'s shop, informing everyone in the village of what they saw while there.
As for Valyr, it was only after night fell did he stop to take a quick break, letting out a sigh of relief as he took a look at the pile of equipment he forged.
"If Julian were to see this, I\'d bet he\'d be surprised." Muttering these words to himself, Valyr let out a slight chuckle.
After that, he took out a stamina potion from his spatial bracelet before downing it in one gulp, immediately feeling part of the exhaustion that was building up in his body wash away because of it.
Returning his gaze towards the pile of equipment he made, Valyr went ahead and identified them with his identification skill, noting down that the overall rarity of the items ranged between Common to Uncommon grade.
Then again, thanks to the effects of the titles, skills, and items he used during the forging process, all of the equipment he forged had stats that were considerably higher than their classified grade, causing a slight grin to gradually appear on his face.
"I\'m sure the players would flock this shop because of it."
Letting out a chuckle at the thought, Valyr eventually returned to forging more items, oblivious to what had transpired about half a day earlier.
…
Having finished forging all of the anvils and forging hammers he\'d need to work at his full potential, it went without saying that Valyr pushed himself to his very limits, not wanting to waste the remaining time he had left before the update.
Spending almost all of his time on forging weapons and armors that would swarm the village once the update arrived, it went without saying that the young man was able to amass an amount of equipment that would leave any blacksmith at a loss for words.
Then again, considering that he spent almost an entire two days forging equipment that would only take him at most 15 minutes each to complete, it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that he\'d be able to rack up an absurd amount by the time he was done.
Though, just as he thought that the final day was just him forging more equipment like before, he stopped in his tracks when a person appeared in his shop the moment the sun began to rise.
A person… he wasn\'t expecting to see at this time.
"Braum?"
