Chapter 65: Play Over

The rest of the morality test was no surprise anymore as Almond answered the question with a proper sense of justice in his heart. He wasn’t a saint, but he proved he wasn’t evil.

"Good, the test is over," Admiral Rudra said, a faint smile playing on his face that hinted at something more than mere satisfaction. He was already looking forward to Almond’s future.

Turning off the speaker, he stood and said, "I’m fairly sure that Draven will try to kill you. If he knows he won’t succeed in my presence, he won’t do it right away. In that case, you and Dagon can go out and bait him."

Almond nodded, mildly nervous, but overall, he was okay and ready.

However, he had an idea, and he decided to share it, "Wait, before we go out, I have an idea. Since you approved of this plan, then you are also looking for the chance to eliminate Draven, right?"

"That’s right. He has gotten away because of no proof, but he had done many vile things, enough for me to behead him, but I can’t because of Earth Union and other guilds’ opinions. Without proof, I will be labeled as a tyrant, and GAA will suffer greatly."

"Then I can erase his cautiousness right now," Almond said, his eyes glinting as he looked at Draven through the glass. "I can force him to make a move on me."

Draven, who was outside, was fairly certain that Almond knew he was Jacob’s father.

His eyes were spewing daggers, but they shifted as soon as Admiral Rudra looked at him.

’I can’t let that old monster get wary of me. I will only get one chance. Just one chance!’

"What are they talking inside?" Draven asked with a frown.

"It doesn’t matter to you, does it?" Dagon snorted.

Meanwhile, Rudra’s eyes visibly shook as he heard Almond’s idea and stared intensely at Almond. "Are you certain that is possible? I mean, I don’t doubt you, but you do realize that being able to do such a thing is exceedingly terrifying, right?"

Almond nodded, his expression severe, "I know. I can ruin lives with this, but I can also do much more than that. I don’t plan to use this power in a bad way, certainly not on the innocents."

Admiral Rudra’s eyes had a strange flicker of flame, "But you can use it to root out vile pests. Alright, do it."

"Let’s start walking, I’ve locked on him, so once I do that, he will attack me for sure."

As the duo started walking out of the chamber, Almond used his Riftveil Eyes to discover Draven’s cautiousness.

[Cautioness: the trait of being careful and attentive to avoid danger, mistakes, or risks. 63(34)/100]

’Hmm? Why are there two numbers? Is his current state already affecting his cautiousness?’ Almond was surprised, but that didn’t change what he had to do.

The moment they exited the door, Almond used Divine Divider’s Harvest and cut off Draven’s cautiousness by half.

’Done.’

Draven’s vibe had already shifted. His mind was fully occupied by the revenge.

Admiral Rudra exited first, and Almond followed.

"Alright, the test is done. Almond, we have some other stuff to do, so follow me. As for Dagon, Han, and Draven, you three can leave."

After saying that, Admiral walked towards the room’s exit, showing his back to Draven. But he had also given a signal to Dagon, who was behind Draven.

Almond also followed Admiral Rudra, his back facing Draven. He could feel literal heat at his back, the vibe and the killing intent bearing on him from Draven. After all, his perception was off the charts.

And then, it happened. Throwing caution to the wind, Draven, platinum-rank Adventurer of level 57—primary class of warrior role and specialized class of similar role—attacked Almond as two small black axes with bloody aura and patterns conjured, going straight for Almond, intending to cut him into three pieces.

"Die!" And he shouted as he was close to his goal, his eyes bloodshot.

He could see his axes going to cut Almond into three pieces. He was already visualizing it.

But all that shattered as an imposing figure suddenly blocked everything as a lapis blue barrier manifested. Both axes struck the shield before they shattered. The barrier then released a pulse of shockwave targetting Draven, shooting him back right at Dagon whose punch squarely struck Draven’s head.

*Smack!*

Knocked out completely cold.

"Han, upload the recording of his assault to the internet and send a copy to the Earth Union. Ensure that Almond is completely blurred from head to toe in the videos," Admiral Rudra commanded, his gaze cold as he looked at the unconscious Draven. "Call the enforcers and have them throw him in jail for now. I’ll decide his fate later."

Almond followed Admiral Rudra as they arrived in a big, empty training hall.

’The materials on the walls, the aura…this hall feels crazy,’ Almond curiously looked around. It was completely empty with only white square patterned walls.

"Almond, I understand your brilliance. And I’m sure you also do," Admiral Rudra said, his arms crossed. "I don’t know what’s your plan now that you’ve successfully started on the path of an Adventurer, but allow me to offer you something."

"In exchange for joining the GAA, I will take you as my personal student and guide you in things that the public is not privy to. You will get my full support. You will get your full freedom as long as you show decent improvements periodically."

"And," Admiral Rudra paused before he smiled, "You can state whatever desires and proposals you have. I will seriously consider them and approve them as long as they aren’t harmful."

Almond was taken back. ’So much sugar? But he shouldn’t know about my classes…why is he thinking of me so highly? I mean, he already knows about my ability’s depth after seeing how I drove Draven to attack me…’

’But training with his guidance and getting GAA’s full support, including my freedom…this is invaluable. I am sure to get stronger faster with him at my back since he has secret knowledge of chakra points and is one of the highest authorities in this world.’

’I can also demand to be at Firefly City’s GAA branch.’
