Chapter 104: Tingting Really Doesn’t Know
Lu Jingzhi had so much he wanted to say, but he didn’t know how to say it at the moment, as if every time he tried to have a proper conversation with Qiao Yun, he couldn’t do it right.
He carefully chose his words and asked, “How is it going at school now? Is anyone bullying you?”
Qiao Yun gently shook her head, “No.”
“Are you having any difficulties with your studies?”
“No.”
“If you need anything, remember to tell me,” Lu Jingzhi thought of Pei Ya and added another sentence, “I am your big brother.”
Qiao Yun blinked, “I don’t need anything.”
Lu Jingzhi was trying hard to find topics, but each time, Qiao Yun responded succinctly.
He thought that Qiao Yun didn’t want to talk to him.
He felt inexplicably annoyed and finally sighed.
“You can go down and have your meal now.”
Qiao Yun didn’t know what Lu Jingzhi was thinking. Hearing that he finally let her go, she turned and left downstairs heartlessly, without a hint of reluctance.
She suspected that Lu Jingzhi was ill, otherwise why would he suddenly care about her?
Once Qiao Yun had really gone, Lu Jingzhi frowned. How eager was she to leave, and how much did she not want to see him?
Was he really that annoying?
Lu Jingzhi realized that the rift between him and Qiao Yun might be bigger than he had imagined, but since Qiao Yun was so well-behaved, it shouldn’t be too difficult to coax her, should it?
At this, he was reminded of Lu Ting’s kindness, which slightly upset him, thinking a gift would easily appease her.
Otherwise, he could buy some gifts for Qiaoqiao.
Lu Jingzhi, once he thought of it, acted immediately and sent a message to his secretary to arrange it.
During dinner, Su Mian sensed that something was off between Lu Rui and Lu Jingzhi, thinking it was business-related, so she did not ask too much.
Since Lu Rui and Lu Jingzhi had not mentioned anything about the project, Lu Ting had a bad premonition.
She hung her head, gripped her chopsticks tightly, and told herself it was okay, that if the project issue was exposed, she also had a way to smooth it over.
After all, it wasn’t her fault; it was Jiang Huai being too eager to take credit that had caused her to misunderstand.
Throughout the meal, Lu Ting sat uneasily, but fortunately, right up until they had finished eating, nobody had brought up the project issue.
Lu Ting breathed a sigh of relief in her heart, thinking that the matter was thus settled.
Late in the evening, Lu Jingzhi knocked on Lu Ting’s door.
When Lu Ting opened the door and saw Lu Jingzhi, she couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous, yet her face remained composed, “Big brother, what is it?”
“Did you know that there are a lot of derogatory comments about Qiaoqiao on your school forum?” Lu Jingzhi started with this question.
“Ah?” Lu Ting looked blank.
Expecting him to ask about the project and not the school, she hadn’t managed her expression in time, revealing a genuinely confused state.
Lu Jingzhi carefully observed her expression and was reassured.
Apparently, Tingting really didn’t know.
Lu Ting had already regained her composure, furrowing her brows, her voice filled with a bit of surprise, “Really? I didn’t know. Who is defaming my sister?”
“They’re already investigating it,” Lu Jingzhi told her.
Lu Ting said in frustration, “I thought my sister just had a small conflict with her classmates. I never imagined someone would speak ill of her on the forum.”
Even if they did, it wasn’t related to her. She was just aware but had not reported it; she didn’t feel guilty at all about this matter.
“Be more observant in the future,” Lu Jingzhi advised her.
Since Tingting was unaware, they couldn’t blame her for not informing them in time.
Lu Ting nodded her head.
Looking at her, Lu Jingzhi’s tone turned a bit forceful, “The contract is already signed. Tomorrow is Sunday; why don’t you invite your classmates out for a meal? He can’t be busy even on Sunday, can he? If he is, we’ll visit him personally.”
Upon hearing this, Lu Ting tensed up inside.
