Chapter 646 Back and Forth
He wiped the liquor as well as drool from his mouth with the back of his palm.
He then mumbled to himself in a slurry voice, "Let\'s go home… alone… Ah! It was not my lucky day. I wish I could shove my treasure in some nice cave." He held his pant in place with his hands and started walking with his staggering feet.
And as he walked, he recalled those scary red eyes and angrily blabbered, "Darn it! That red-eyed man! If it wasn\'t for him then I would have taken that woman home. Such a pity!"
Suddenly, he bumped into a tall man\'s rock-hard chest. "Tsk! Oi, you… watch it!" he shouted in a slurry voice and looked up to see who it was.
He narrowed his eyes to get a clear look at that tall man\'s face. And he suddenly snapped his fingers at that man and shouted, "Aha! I see you have red eyes."
As he was now completely drunk, he got the courage to shout at that red-eyed man, "Are you the one who glared at me earlier? What? What do you want now?"
He even fisted in front of his face and asked, "Do you want to fight me? Come now, lad. Let\'s see who wins now."
That tall man, however, wasn\'t interested in some stupid fight. He held that drunkard by his jaw and threatened him in a low but deep growl, "I want you to keep your filthy mouth shut. Forever."
Before that man could comprehend that he was in deep trouble, the tall man bare his fangs and sunk them into that man\'s neck.
The drunkard felt a sharp shooting pain running down from his neck to his whole body. "Arghh–" he wanted to shout for help but that attacker instantly clasped his mouth close.
That drunkard then tried to push that man, or whatever it was, and run for his life. However, he couldn\'t move a single finger. It was as if his whole body had been paralyzed and was now in control of that attacker.
He could feel his blood being drained away from his body, along with his life. And his vision was also slowly failing him. However, he could do nothing other than helplessly stand there and wait for that man to leave him.
However, that never happened.
That man kept on sucking all of his blood until the last drop.
After sucking him dry, that tall man snapped that drunkard\'s head with a swift motion.
That goon dropped dead on the ground, unaware of what he did wrong or who his killer was.
The tall man licked his blood-smeared fangs and lips. He took a deep breath in and moaned in satisfaction. "Ahhhh!"
He glared down at his victim\'s dead body and said, "One less burden for Earth. At least your blood was put to great use."

Ariel hadn\'t fallen asleep yet. She was tossing and turning on her bed and was trying to fall asleep. But her mind was still going back and forth on Kenneth and Damien.
"Was it really Damien that I saw in the town? I was so focused on not losing sight of that bangles that I didn\'t even get to see that man\'s other features. I should have checked his hair. At least I would have known if it was or wasn\'t Damien."
She sighed and turned to the other side. And she thought again, "But the town was filled with people. It wasn\'t that I did not see his hair or face. It was just that I could not."
She covered her face with the blanket and mumbled her sorrow in a painful voice, "Ugh! Why am I so short? If only I was as tall as my father then I wouldn\'t have missed him today… if that was indeed Damien."
Ariel suddenly pulled the blanket away from her face. Her pupils dilated when she asked herself, "Should I teleport and try to find him?"
But then she pushed that thought aside, "I don\'t even know what he looks like anymore. And without a precise image in my mind, I might end up teleporting somewhere else... or I might teleport in front of some 12 years old kid who might look like Damien now."
Her mood suddenly turned bitter when she thought, "Besides, I don\'t even know for sure if it was him. If it was not him then he might get shocked to see me after all these years if I do manage to teleport to where he is right now. And… I won\'t be able to bear it if he pretends that he doesn\'t even know me."
She covered her eyes with her arm and let out a deep sigh.
Ariel then diverted her mind to Kenneth. A soft smile automatically lingered on her sad face.
She recalled the past two days they had spent on the road. Like Kenneth had said, taking the first step out of the Palace had been really difficult for her.
But once they set off on this journey, everything had been fun so far.
She liked all the new things that she experienced in the past two days – from sitting in the carriage for hours and playing all sorts of games to eating, singing, and dancing around the campfire, and sleeping in the middle of nowhere.
Ariel smiled broadly and thought, "I have to agree, he is good at managing these kinds of trips. I could travel the world with him and not get bored, ever."
While she was still lost in her thoughts, she suddenly heard a soft knock on her door.
"Who\'s it?" Ariel asked, half-expecting to hear Kenneth\'s voice.
However, it was Niylah who spoke. "It\'s me, Ary. Open up."
Ariel hurriedly went to open the door thinking that Niylah might be in some trouble.
However, she was fine. She invited herself inside Ariel\'s room and jumped on Ariel\'s bed.
Ariel knitted her brows together and asked, "Can\'t sleep?"
Niylah adjusted herself comfortably and replied, "Yeah, maybe it\'s the new bed or maybe it\'s… the new bed. Ugh! I couldn\'t fall asleep."
She patted next to her and asked, "Jump in. Let\'s talk. I am guessing you were also unable to sleep."
"How did you know?" Ariel locked the door and slipped next to Niylah.
Niylah nonchalantly shrugged and said, "Sister instinct?"
Niylah then lay down on her stomach and rested her cheek on her palm. She glanced at Ariel and asked, "I was a little curious… Is something going on between you and Kenneth?"
"Um…" Ariel scratched her head because she didn\'t know what to say.
Niylah smiled and nodded, "I will take that as a \'yes\' because you didn\'t shout or got angry at me."
Ariel felt shy out of nowhere. She looked away from Niylah and said, "I was just willing to give him a chance since he had been so persistent."
"Ah! Right, of course." Niylah winked at Ariel and teased her, "It\'s not like you have started to fall for him as well, right? You are just doing him a favor."
"Ugh! Come on, Ny! Zach teases me enough. Not you too!" Ariel frowned at Niylah and tried to hide her flushed cheeks.
Niylah giggled and snuggled down with her cousin. She was happy to see her cousin opening up her heart again.
She then excitedly asked Ariel, "Tell me more. What made you change your mind?"
