Chapter 113 - Shedding Tears of Sympathy

Chapter 113: Shedding Tears of Sympathy

“Ah Mian...” Yun Xiangxiang rubbed her face on Song Mian’s back. “What you said is a real slap in my face.”

“En?” Song Mian didn’t quite catch what she wanted to say.

She turned his face around to meet him with both of her hands. Yun Xiangxiang got closer until the tip of their noses came into contact and their breaths took after each other.

Yun Xiangxiang’s pair of clear, amber eyes met his mesmerizing, purplish black ones, “I always thought that I don’t look forward to romance. It is not until today that I realized that I have been waiting for you to appear.”

Yun Xiangxiang only understood now that no matter how strong a woman was, she would also have a heart that yearns for love.

Some were chained by their fear of attempt; some were afraid of losing it; and some were too disappointed with love.

That was why they hid themselves behind their strength and indifference. They were hynotized by the lie that told them they did not need love.

When in reality, they just hadn’t met the right person. Once they did, they could never leave.

Yun Xiangxiang agreed to be with Song Mian in the start just because he was someone who she was willing to give it a shot. She didn’t want to drag the whole thing out. She would just use an excuse about somebody interfering when someone butted into their relationship to make it look like she missed an opportunity.

Even if they weren’t a good match, she also hoped that it was because of their own personalities.

She was now very glad that she made this choice. It gave her a chance to understand Song Mian deeper.

“Can I understand this as ‘my girlfriend has now fallen for me’?”

Song Mian’s smile extended from the edges of his lips to the edges of his brows. It then seeped into his eyes, which made his purplish-black eyes even more dazzling.

Yun Xiangxiang tilted her head to give a hard kiss on Song Mian’s lips. She pushed him and ran away quickly just as Song Mian was shaking. She wore her slippers and took Little Angel in her arms, “Take a guess yourself, Mr Song.”

The sound of her door closing made Song Mian laugh quietly. He lightly touched his lips.

The little lady thought that she made a quick getaway. He didn’t chase after her just because he didn’t want to scare her so soon.

She would understand later that she shouldn’t even think of getting away as long as he refused to let go.

“Such a pretty kitten,” Yun Lin happened to be the one who opened the door once Yun Xiangxiang came down. “Let me hug Little Angel.”

Yun Lin who wanted to be the nation’s best brother must have followed Yun Xiangxiang’s Weibo. Even if Little Angel was getting better over half a month due to great care, ragdolls are a breed that grew slowly. It only slightly felt chubbier and didn’t show any big changes.

She of course gave the cat to him. However, Little Angel turned its face away once it landed in Yun Lin’s arms, “Meow...”

“You didn’t shower in time after your practice, did you?” Yun Xiangxiang glanced at her brother whose hair was still glistening. “Little Angel isn’t fond of the smell of sweat on you.”

“This is the smell of a man!” Yun Lin argued.

“How old are you to be even talking about being a man?” Yun Xiangxiang pushed him inside. She saw Song Qian the moment she entered, “I see you must have prepared Little Angel’s nest and car food.”

“I didn’t hide anything from you,” Song Qian explained hurriedly. “Song Yao was the one who sent them together. I only knew about the young master’s return this afternoon. Also, the house upstairs was bought by the young master two months ago.”

“Two months ago?” Yun Xiangxiang quickly noticed the keywords.

It was late October now. She transfused her blood to Song Mian in late July. Song Mian already took over the floor above her since August?

Song Qian smiled charmingly and tried to change the topic, “It’s very late now. Do you want to take a bath and do some haircare?”

“Hmph,” Yun Xiangxiang harrumphed gently before trotting to the bathroom.

Song Qian said to her when she was massaging Yun Xiangxiang’s acupoints, “Young master has also sent the candies you want. He also sent some medicine that can boost your immune system. He said that they’re for your parents.”

“My mum is easy to handle, but my dad...”

Yun Xiangxiang was in a dilemma. She believed that what Song Mian sent must be something heaven-defying. But her father was a stubborn old mule who absolutely wouldn’t go to see a doctor or take any medicine if he wasn’t sick, or if he didn’t feel like he was sick.

He was really old-fashioned in some ways. If she said that this was some health product she bought, Yun Zhibin absolutely wouldn’t take them.

She also couldn’t say that this was something her boyfriend sent as gifts. Her dad would probably show up in front of her the next day.

It wasn’t because Song Mian wasn’t presentable. It was because she was still a minor. Going by her understanding about Yun Zhibin, he wouldn’t be too happy to see her getting into an early relationship before she was twenty.

The most problematic thing here was Song Mian’s identity. She couldn’t lie or hide his identity if he asked about it.

But Yun Zhibin would be livid if she were to be honest about it.

No matter how much he trusted his daughter, he would think that she was beguiled by material wealth when she came to Beijing. He would think that she was captured by luxury because she was young and didn’t have a strong enough mind.

“Sigh, your young master still has a long way to go,” Yun Xiangxiang would shed tears of sympathy for Song Mian when she thought about Yun Zhibin’s personality.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” Song Qian was confused.

“My dad’s a very traditional man. It was already unbelievable that he would let me be an actress,” Yun Xiangxiang didn’t mind telling Song Qian. “If he knows that I’m seeing someone like your young master, hehehe...”

Yun Xiangxiang didn’t continue. She only gave Song Qian a string of laughter that had a lot of meaning behind it.

Yun Zhibin certainly wanted his daughter to find a family whose social status was the same as theirs. He wanted her daughter to find a man who was responsible and could do what a man had to do. He hoped that they would be like him and Su Xiuling: living a life of peace and mutual understanding for everything.

He would never allow Yun Xiangxiang to marry into a noble family, let alone a top noble family like Song Mian’s.

Thanks to the campy soap operas which he saw too much of with Su Xiuling, he had a deep prejudice about noble families.

He must be thinking that if he couldn’t support his lovely daughter when she married into a wealthy family, his daughter would be looked down upon by them...

Song Qian understood now. The biggest obstacle in her young master’s way of taking Yun Xiangxiang’s hand wasn’t the girl herself.

It was the people’s teacher, the future father-in-law.

“What will you do if you must be with each other, but neither of your parents agree on it?” Song Qian was suddenly interested.

They wouldn’t have that kind of problem on their side though. The master’s request about the young madam was for her to not have any personality disorders. Her appearance wouldn’t matter, as long as their young master liked her.

As for her father, Song Qian was fully confident about her young master. He could convince him, no problem.

She only asked that on a whim.

“Love is something that involves two people. I call the shots for my own relationships, so I don’t need anyone’s approval to be together with Song Mian.”

Yun Xiangxiang answered Song QIan seriously, “But marriage is something that involves two families. A marriage without the parents’ blessings will never have its happily ever after.”

Her marriage must be a union that was mutually anticipated by both sides’ parents, or else she would rather live her whole life without marrying.

She could give up a love that her parents did not acknowledge, but she wouldn’t be irresponsible toward herself just for them.
