Chapter 244 - The Wall-climbing Yun Xiangxiang

Chapter 244: The Wall-climbing Yun Xiangxiang

“Time for the strategist in you to shine,” Shen Yitang gave all of them two thumbs up. “Draw the lots now. You guys will take turns catching the prisoners of war.”

There were three numbers within the lots. Yun Xiangxiang got number three. Lu Jin and He Xingzhou got to number one, while Hou Cang and Sun Qiluo got number two.

In other words, Lu Jin and He Xingzhou were “It” in this round. The rest of them would be prey.

“You have ten minutes to return to your territory,” Shen Yitang told Yun Xiangxiang, Sun Qiluo, and Hou Cang.

Sun Qiluo and Hou Cang immediately ran away, while Yun Xiangxiang scanned through the map before leaving.

She wanted to stay as far away as she could from Lu Jin and He Xingzhou, “I think I know what their comeback plan is.”

As she ran to her territory, Yun Xiangxiang said to the camera. “It’s a waste of time if they only focuse on me. But they will lose if they only focus on Sister Qiluo’s team. Xingzhou and Brother Jin’s advantage is young and strong. One of them will come for me, while the other will go for Sister Qiluo’s team.

“No matter who’s the hunter, my escape will be successful if I manage to dodge them for half an hour.” Every team had thirty minutes to capture the prisoners.

The size of her territory might have given her an advantage, but catching four people by herself was still exhausting work. They wouldn’t just stand there and let her catch them.

He Xingzhou and Lu Jin might be at a disadvantage when it came to land, but their strength was their trump card.

Hou Cang and Sun Qiluo wouldn’t be easy prey too. They had three pieces of land, after all.

It was hard to tell who would be the winner at this point.

Ten minutes wasn’t enough for Yun Xiangxiang to travel the distance she wanted. When the announcer told them the game had started, she sped up. That tired out the cameraman who was following her.

She slowed down as she was arriving at the place she wanted. She chose a road that forked out into three branches. As they couldn’t hide in the civilians’ houses, this was the best spot for her.

He Xingzhou showed up after five minutes. He said lovingly, “My dear, do please take my hand and follow me home.”

“My liege, our love now only exists within the annals of history. Please, forget about me, don’t hurt yourself. Don’t come for me ever again,” Yun Xiangxiang buried her face in her hand, looking frustrated.

“I refuse. Without you, my love, life loses all meaning,” He Xingzhou made his love confession as he closed in.

“Sun Qiluo is captured. Sun Qiluo is captured...,” the announcer announced.

Yun Xiangxiang was surprised. Lu Jin’s strong. Sun Qiluo was caught and dragged back in such a short time, and Hou Cang didn’t manage to save her.

She was hoping the duo could stall Lu Jin for a while longer. If Hou Cang was also captured, she would be caught in a pincer attack. That would be bad for her.

He Xingzhou dashed forward during the announcement. Yun Xiangxiang was on high alert and ran away quickly when that happened.

Yun Xiangxiang suddenly skidded to a halt as she ran. He Xingzhou disappeared. They couldn’t enter any house, and nothing was blocking her sight here. He Xingzhou couldn’t have used another path to block her. She was only left with one possibility.

She wasn’t He Xingzhou’s target. He was just using her to make Hou Cang think that way.

If Lu Jin managed to ambush one of them, He Xingzhou would use the path from her territory to do a pincer attack against Hou Cang.

The pair would take down Hou Cang before coming after her.

“I expected nothing less from King Wen of Chu,” Yun Xiangxiang needed to come up with something to save herself. Lu Jin was too smart.

After giving it some thought, she suddenly asked the program team, “The rule only says I can’t enter any civilian’s house, right?”

“That is correct,” the program team didn’t know what the mischievous Yun Xiangxiang had in mind, but they still answered her anyway.

They got their answer very soon. It was shocking. Yun Xiangxiang jumped up the wall and climbed up the roof.

The buildings in the old town were of ancient style. Yun Xiangxiang put her training to use here. She just used some strength and climbed up the building easily.

But that troubled the cameraman. He had to keep it facing toward her. When he saw Yun Xiangxiang moving around, he had to remind her, “Safety first.”

“Okay, don’t worry,” Yun Xiangxiang scaled the wall carefully.

The dog in the courtyard started barking. When the house’s owner came out, he saw her scaling his wall.

Awkwardness filled the air. Yun Xiangxiang said sheepishly, “We’re just...recording a show. I’ll have to use your roof for a while.”

The owner calmed his dog down. He asked, “Do you need a ladder?”

“Oh, not really. But thank you,” Yun Xiangxiang refused the offer. She started moving up. The roof tiles were slippery, but at least they were not wet.

When she got to a place where there was no leverage anyone could use to climb up, she sat on the roof.

“How much time is left?” Yun Xiangxiang asked the program team.

“Eight minutes.”

“Hou Cang is captured. Hou Cang is captured,” the announcer announced again.

“They will be here in three minutes, tops,” Yun Xiangxiang calculated.

The cameraman couldn’t stand this angle anymore. He went further back to record.

Around three or four minutes later, He Xingzhou and Lu Jin rushed here from two paths. Neither of them expected her to climb up any walls!

“My dear, women aren’t supposed to climb any walls. Do please come down and return home with me,” He Xingzhou extended his hand to Yun Xiangxiang.

“The view is great up here. It’s cool, and I can see everything,” Yun Xiangxiang arched her eyebrow.

She had a smug look on her face. Lu Jin and Xingzhou could go up there to try and catch her, but it would be too dangerous. And they couldn’t capture her either.

The pair looked at Yun Xiangxiang helplessly from below.

“How about it, my dear King Wen? Chess not checkers.” Yun Xiangxiang shook her legs. Her pink-colored hem radiated light. “Do you yield?”

“I yield,” Lu Jin surrendered.

“Give me a ladder, I want to go up there to look at the view too,” He Xingzhou requested.

“The program team does not provide any help,” he was mercilessly rejected.

“How did she get up there then?” He Xingzhou pointed at Yun Xiangxiang.

“She jumped up there,” the program team answered.

He Xingzhou gave them a look that said: Do you think I am stupid? “Show me how you can jump up there.”

“I jumped up here myself. There are a few short chairs there. You can use them as leverage,” Yun Xiangxiang pointed at the place she jumped up.

He Xingzhou went there. When he saw how high up there it was, he came back quietly.

Lu Jin, however, used the chairs as leverage and jumped up the roof. The dog barked again. The owner was right there as he was worried about Yun Xiangxiang. He immediately calmed his dog.

Yun Xiangxiang didn’t run when she saw Lu Jin closing in. She just sat there.

“Aren’t you worried I might capture you?” Lu Jin sat down beside Yun Xiangxiang.

“Not that you have enough time to bring me back anyway,” Yun Xiangxiang knew she had won from the moment they saw her.

Hou Cang was a great assist. He bought her enough time. If Yun Xiangxiang didn’t climb up the roof, they might have stood a chance.
