Chapter 251 - Someone Else’s Love

Chapter 251: Someone Else’s Love

“He is! An annoying little spirit, but he belongs to me,” Yun Xiangxiang shook her hips shamelessly.

Wei Shanshan was jealous of her slender waist. She tried to tickle her. Xiangxiang quickly dodged. She disliked getting tickled.

They played around before taking their baths. As they lay on their bed, Shanshan lamented, “Finding someone outside of this industry is probably better.”

“The grass is always greener on the other side. But when Cupid strikes, you won’t care.”

Xiangxiang was going to be a spinster before she met Song Mian. Marriage could be a disaster for a celebrity like them.

Xiangxiang was only testing the waters when she met Song Mian. But then she was quickly drawn in and knew the taste of love.

A family of celebrities would have twice the attention. If they had any children, one of them must retire to take care of them. Actors were busy people.

“You must not see each other frequently,” said Shanshan.

‘We spend eighty percent of our time separated,” Xiangxiang calculated.

“Aren’t you worried about the problems you might face?” Shanshan was worried.

Xiangxiang was relaxed. “We knew our jobs and the things we had to face when we met. The knot wasn’t simply tied.”

“But the real deal will never be what you have in mind,” Shanshan broke up with her ex because they spent more time being separated.

They used to be a sweet, happy couple, but the distance was just too high of a hurdle for them to overcome.

“Everyone’s different,” Xiangxiang couldn’t be too confident. “We put our duties first.”

Both of them prioritized their duties. No matter if it was their lives, their careers, or their family.

A sense of duty would keep them in line, reducing their chances of making mistakes.

“Some are dutiful too.” Yun Xiangxiang added, “Perhaps life has treated them harshly, and they had to give up their relationship.”

Xiangxiang felt that Shanshan’s breakup was due to this unless he fell for another woman.

Any newbie in the industry would be busy as a bee unless their company supported them.

They didn’t even have time for their life, let alone a relationship. If their partner acted up, that would spell the end of the relationship.

Shanshan agreed after she gave it some thought, “Maybe...”

“It’s late. Go to sleep. I’ll be off to Shanghai tomorrow,” Xiangxiang didn’t want to talk about Shanshan’s sad history.

“I can’t,” Wei Shanshan’s mind was in a mess.

Xiangxiang shifted the topic, “How long before your filming wraps up?”

“Two months, at least.” Wei Shanshan estimated.

It was normal for dramas to take at least six months to film. Xiangxiang wouldn’t take dramas because of this.

She could forget about studying if she starred in dramas. The leads usually had massive workloads. Films were relatively easier to do.

The scenes for films would take a lot of work. Every film would take three to four months, but she could study at the same time.

Under normal circumstances, a film usually wouldn’t run for too long. They would often run from three to five months. That was not the case for dramas.

Dramas would usually be up for a year. But since they would run for a far longer time, they could enjoy popularity levels films could only dream of.

Everything had its pros and cons. She fell sick in her past life because she overworked herself by filming dramas. She wanted life to be more relaxed this time around.

She would work almost exclusively in films. She wouldn’t take any drama scripts unless they attracted her.

“Mine is in a month,” Xiangxiang smiled sweetly.

Her smile was an eyesore to Shanshan, “I know. You’re going to celebrate your darling’s birthday after that.”

“How did you know?” Yun Xiangxiang was surprised.

“You asked Mr. Qian to complete the bracelet in a month. That expensive stuff doesn’t seem like a gift to your dad.”

Shanshan stayed over in Xiangxiang’s place before. She knew the kind of people her parents were.

They would probably keep it in a safety box for life. Giving it to them would be a waste.

She might have only taken one glance at Song Mian, but she knew he was of noble birth through that one glance.

If Xiangxiang was in a hurry, it must mean something. Judging by the stage they were in now, only birthdays warranted such urgency.

“Smart. It’s not every day that I see that from you,” Xiangxiang put her hands underneath the pillow and looked at Shanshan.

“I have dated before, okay?” Shanshan rolled her eyes. She said thoughtfully, “I was seriously worried if he was just after your body when I heard you got a boyfriend.”

She didn’t say that out loud though, since it would make things awkward. She wanted to find a chance to tell Xiangxiang about that indirectly.

“So you aren’t worried now?” Xiangxiang was amused.

“Nope. If it’s the beauty he wants, all he needs is a mirror,” Shanshan nodded.

“Ah, beauties are blessed.” Yun Xiangxiang shook her head, “But that doesn’t mean they’re not perverted.”

“That’s not what I meant. I mean, people like your boyfriend wouldn’t prioritize looks when they are looking for a partner,” Shanshan explained. “At least they are immune to good looks..”

“Shanshan, beauty is attractive. But that doesn’t mean their partner won’t cheat. Beauty has nothing to do with this.”

Xiangxiang thought differently, “Most men’s mistresses aren’t even as pretty as their wife or girlfriend.”

Shanshan agreed with Xiangxiang. She sighed, “Men. Such mysterious creatures.”

Xiangxiang held back her laugh. “And men think that women are impossible.”

“Tell me about you guys,” Shanshan didn’t want to brood on this. “I need some healing.”

Noticing her disappointment in love, she told her about the little things in life with Song Mian to her.

Shanshan was agape when Xiangxiang was done. “That’s not healing me. That’s pushing me further down.”

She was living the dream. How could Shanshan settle for anything less after she heard that?

Where could she find a boyfriend like that? She would compare everyone to Song Mian.

“Well, you restored my faith in love. Someone else’s love that is!” Shanshan pulled her blanket up. Her back was against Xiangxiang, “I must be crazy. I shouldn’t have listened to your story!”

Xiangxiang chuckled. She turned off the lights and went to sleep.

After telling Song Qian about Qian Yongnian, Xiangxiang went back to Shanghai.
