Chapter 424 - You’re Bold, Miss Yun

He looked ordinary, but it gave him an energetic, professional look with his meticulous dress up.

“This is Young Master Yao,” Song Mina introduced him to Yun Xiangxiang.

Yun Xiangxiang nodded at him with a smile to express her greeting, but she didn’t say hello.

Yao Chengxi nodded in response.

Yun Xiangxiang thought that there was more than meets the eye about this man. She didn’t think everyone would be mesmerized when they saw her, even though she thought she was gorgeous. But at least they wouldn’t be this calm, so it was surprising that his gaze was calm and clear.

He either had someone he loved deeply, or looks mattered not to him. No matter the reason, it meant he was a lot stronger than any ordinary man was.

“Let’s start the game,” said Tang Zhiyu calmly.

There were seven people in the room, including Yun Xiangxiang. One of them was sitting on a sofa far away as he read a thick book, but Yun Xiangxiang didn’t look too closely. There was another one standing behind Chang Tao, their relationship unknown.

Chang Tao, Yao Chengxi, and Tang Zhiyu were around the table along with Yun Xiangxiang and Song Mian.

“Sorry. I have never played Texas Hold’em, so can I ask for the rules?” Yun Xiangxiang raised her hand to interrupt the croupier behind Chang Tao.

Yun Xiangxiang’s announcement surprised the heirs of noble families which had been in the business world for a long time.

Tang Zhiyu smiled. “Texas-”

“You don’t have to trouble yourself with this, Young Master Tang,” Song Mian interrupted him.

Tang Zhiyu played with a gold lighter than was embedded with sapphires as he shrugged and stopped talking.

Song Mian told Yun Xiangxiang the rules, to which she listened carefully, and she found that it was an interesting playstyle.

After listening to the rules, she nodded and told the croupier named Pan Liangyou, “Start the game, please. I understand the rules now.”

“Do you want to try it out for a bit, Miss Yun?” Chang Tao made a kind offer.

“It’s fine. I prefer to pay for my classes. It’s better for learning that way,” Yun Xiangxiang refused with a smile.

Everyone else was fine with it, so they started off deciding who the dealer was, which happened to be Yun Xiangxiang. According to the rules, Tang Zhiyu, who was the player after Yun Xiangxiang, was the small blinds, so he had to toss his bet into the table’s center.

There were coins made out of platinum, gold, and silver in front of them. Yun Xiangxiang had asked about them, so she knew a platinum coin represented a million yuan each. In contrast, a gold coin represented five hundred thousand, and a silver coin represented a hundred thousand.

Their bets were unlimited, but they had to make it double the last player’s bet if they were going to raise. Aside from that, everything else was fair game.

Tang Zhiyu tossed a gold coin. The next players would be big blinds, so he had to bet a million.

Yao Chengxi placed a platinum coin in the middle before Pan Liangyou, the croupier, dealt two hole cards to each player.

Yun Xiangxiang had two sixes, and now was the first round of betting. They would start with the next player after the big blinds, which was Chang Tao.

Chang Tao tossed a platinum coin without even looking at his hole cards. After he had done betting, since there were only four of them playing, it was now Yun Xiangxiang’s turn to bet.

Yun Xiangxiang would either have to fold, call, or raise it to two million if that was what she wanted.

Although this was Song Mian’s money, and these people weren’t any normal guy who would be scared of a small raise, Yun Xiangxiang still called it by tossing one platinum coin.

Tang Zhiyu raised his eyebrow, but he didn’t raise. Instead, he called the bet, which was followed by Yao Chengxi.

Now they had four and a half million in the pot, which surprised Yun Xiangxiang. Her eyes widened as she thought that these guys’ bet was in the tens of millions.

Pan Liangyou flipped over three shared cards in the middle of the table, and they were the Jester of clubs, eight of clubs, and six of hearts.

Texas Hold’em’s points were calculated by using the best combination formed through five shared cards and two hole cards. In the end, the player with the highest points would win.

Yun Xiangxiang held the highest point with three sixes, which was a three of a kind. After that, there were two shared cards left that had to be dealt.

The best combination she could get was four of a kind, which meant there must be another six in the next flipped card.

The next best combination would be a full house that consisted of a trip and a pair. In other words, there had to be either a Jester or an eight in the remaining cards.

The second round of betting started with the small blinds. Tang Zhiyu smiled at Yun Xiangxiang. “I’ll pay for your class on Texas Hold’em.”

He tossed two platinum coins into the middle of the table.

Yao Chengxi chose to fold. “I’ve paid two million to learn, but my luck is down, so you guys go on.”

After Yao Chengxi had withdrawn, it was Chang Tao’s turn to bet. “Raise,” he said.

Chang Tao tossed four platinum coins before looking at Yun Xiangxiang.

Yun Xiangxiang still looked calm as she called the bet. “It’s the first round, so I can’t back off.”

Her hand was decent too, but she looked up at Song Mian with puppy eyes after she called the bet. “Will you think I’m a prodigal daughter if I lose this?”

“I just lost a hundred million,” Song Mian answered her that way.

Yun Xiangxiang was rendered speechless.

“You prodigal son.” She glared at Song Mian before turning around. At this moment, the croupier had dealt the fourth shared card, which was a nine of clubs.

A flush could be made with three clubs, and it was ranked higher than a three of a kind. If the last shared card was revealed to be another club, Yun Xiangxiang, who had six clubs, could make a flush.

Tang Zhiyu made the first bet. He didn’t raise it, so he called it by tossing four platinum coins.

It was impossible to discern, from his expression, if his hand was terrible, but he refused to fold, or he was bluffing to wait for Yun Xiangxiang and Chang Tao to make their bets.

Chang Tao smiled, and his flirty eyes rolled around before he took a handful of platinum coins and tossed them into the middle of the table.

Pan Liangyou, the croupier, scanned it. “Chang Tao has made a fifteen million yuan bet.”

The pressure was now on Yun Xiangxiang. She had to either fold, which meant the bets before this would go to Chang Tao or Tang Zhiyu, or she had to call the fifteen million yuan bet.

Tang Zhiyu still had the same look, while Chang Tao was smiling fakely at them.

Yun Xiangxiang had three sixes in her hands. Under the current situation, the biggest hand that could appear was the straight flush. For that to happen, someone’s hand must have a ten and Queen of clubs or a ten and seven of clubs.

If someone had a straight flush, even if she managed to get another six to make four of a kind, she would still lose.

But the probability of that happening was infinitesimally small. If it were just a regular flush, Yun Xiangxiang would win if she had a full house or four of a kind.

She smiled as she counted fifteen platinum coins seriously before handing it to Pan Liangyou. “Call.”

Chang Tai gazed at her. “You’re bold, Miss Yun.”

Yun Xiangxiang had a broad smile. “I wouldn’t call if you have chosen to bet a hundred million, Young Master Chang. I can’t be more spendthrift than my boyfriend is.”

When Yun Xiangxiang mocked that Chang Tao was too stingy, Tang Zhiyu smiled before telling Pan Liangyou, “Deal the cards.”

Yun Xiangxiang looked calm, but she was feeling nervous. She hoped that the card wasn’t a club, which would lower the chances of a straight flush from happening.

When she flipped over the last card, it was a six of spades.

Yun Xiangxiang had four sixes now, and the only combination that was higher than this was the straight flush, but the possibility for that was the lowest.

The moment this card was played, Yun Xiangxiang looked at both of them. “Show your card.”
