Chapter 79

She threatened Valerian and Priscilla with a hoarse voice, but the silver-haired boy had learned that once in a fight the enemy should not be given a chance to take the lead. The one who led the pace will win.

Valerian did not cast another mind snare, Fragrantia had told him that Amour was proficient in two attributes, one was light, and the other was water. Shadow attribute was weaker in front of the light.

Water could turn into ice, and that was very lethal when used by an Arch-mage. Valerian did not intend to wait and let Amour completely shake off the effects of the mind snare, he cast a spell, ‘Micare.’

This spell was like a flashbang. A sudden burst of light in front of the target would impair the vision. Valerian did the same, and he sneaked closer to Amour, however, the lady was not a vase and her title of an arch-mage was not for show. She waved her hand, a lot of water bullets formed in the air and they shot toward Valerian.

The boy stomped his feet on the floor and a wall was erected in front of him. Priscilla was also targeted from this cluster, so she cast a fire spell, ‘Murus Flammarum’

A wall of flames surrounded Priscilla evaporating the water beads. Valerian peeked from the side of the wall to check on Amour and waved his hands to attract Priscilla’s attention. He gave her a few signs and asked a question. Priscilla nodded with some hesitation.

She cast a spell, “Flamma Iaculator.”

A javelin of flame was shot at Amour, the lady was to be apprehended and presented in the court, if she could not stop this javelin because she had impaired vision, it will be a disaster. But Priscilla was underestimating Amour’s prowess.

.....

The wife of the prime minister stood in the center of, what was left of the garden, and cast a wall of ice around her. The javelin collided with the wall and smokes erupted as the wall was melting under the heat from the javelin.

Just when the last layer of the wall was left, and Amour had almost regained her vision, Valerian rushed over and through that small hole in the wall, his fist went through, breaking the thin ice, however, it still did not reach Amour, Valerian was not tall enough.

Amour sneered when she saw the small hand stretching toward her. She was not worried, because the ice wall in front of her was enough to withstand the attacks from Priscilla, and how can this young child do any harm to her? She underestimated Valerian’s cruelty.

The boy was hanging from the wall, with his left hand passing through the hole, and without waiting for anything he cast a fire spell, ‘Ignis.’

The intensity of a spell was controlled by the input of mana, if you channel a drop then it will be a spark, but if you let out a river, the spell will swallow everything like a flame in the woods.

Valerian cast Ignis and channeled a lot of mana in the spell. What followed was the wails of Amour inside the ice wall. She was trapped in her own spell. The wall was sealed from all four sides but the top was open. However, right now, Valerian had cast a spell that covered every corner inside the ice wall.

The screams were deafening, Valerian had directly burnt the lady with flames. The spell did not last for long, and the burning pain injured her, however, she cast a shield of the water attribute mana over her skin to resist the burns. But how would she be able to deal with the surprise held by Valerian in the bag for her?

After the burst of flames followed a barrage of wind blades. The surface of the water was easily penetrable by the blades, she could use her light attribute mana to heal her wounds quickly, but the point was the irritation.

Amour thought of these puny grade two spells as an insult against her. However, she was shocked that this child could use four attributes. She was about to cast an aggressive spell on the hand exposed in front of him but found that the hand has been retracted.

She heard a crack from behind her and turned around, but it was already too late, Valerian had cast the flame spell and the wind blades to attack her but also to weaken the side of the ice wall. Priscilla was helping him by channeling her fire mana through her body and melting the outside wall as well.

After the desired effect was achieved, Valerian had let go of the hole and came around. The next thing he did was to rush through the thin ice and knock out Amour.

Lady Amour still did not want to give up and cast a water attribute spell to immobilize Valerian. She did not want to kill these two, on the contrary, she wanted to take them as hostages to get out of here. But if she killed them, Fragrantia will never spare her.

Valerian suddenly accelerated, in just a blink he stood near Amour, the next thing the lady experienced was a sudden lack of air in her lungs and a strong pain in her abdomen.

The child has shoved his fist deep inside her belly, knocking out her breath of her. This was followed by a roundhouse to the temple, resulting in the lady, fainting.

Priscilla still did not take any chances and made sure that the target was unconscious. She sighed and said, “This was hard.”

Valerian shook his head, and said, ‘We are lacking something.’

Priscilla asked, “What do you mean?”

Valerian thought for a bit and said, ‘She did not resist us, we used a trick to take her down. You say if she said this in the court, will it not reflect badly on her Excellency?’

Priscilla nodded and asked, “If you knew this, then why did you act in this way?”

‘You are so stupid, do you think, she will just follow us with a bent waist? She is an Arch-mage and we are puny people. She would have taken us, hostages, if I had not acted like this. So, now, we will have to cover things up.’, replied Valerian.

Priscilla was shocked when beads of water appeared in the void, and Valerian clenched his fist. The beads flew in random directions and a couple of them hit the boy on his torso leaving blood marks.

The maid was surprised, but Valerian stood there gritting his teeth. The pain was burning his soul at the moment. Priscilla saw him and directly held Lady Amour in her arms. She carried the knocked-out prisoner in her arms, while Valerian walked behind her, with a few bleeding spots on his clothes.

The noise made from the magic spell clash was not small at the neighboring people, mostly women and the elderly had come out to see what was going on, and even the guards were called. They did not enter the house, because it belonged to the prime minister.

When the people saw Priscilla coming out with Amour in her arms, they wanted to question her about it. However, the maid was faster, she looked at the guard and said, “Help me take this child to the infirmary. He was injured by water magic spells.”

The people were surprised, they sensed something, Amour was a mage of water attribute. This child was injured, did the two parties clash with each other, and why did they fight? What was going on? A lady suddenly asked, “Who are you? What is your identity?”

They wanted to know who this girl was, Priscilla said, “I am a hand-maiden beside Her Highness, Azula Verus. I came here with this child to summon Lady Amour to the royal court. Valerian, show them the seal.”

Valerian cleverly stepped out from behind her and raised a medallion in his hands, his face was wincing constantly. The people were sure of their identity and they subconsciously took a step back. Priscilla said, “If you have done inspecting us, then please help us. The empress is waiting for Lady Amour to visit the royal court, and this child needs treatment.”

Just as she said this, Valerian knelt on the ground, his wounds were still bleeding, and he had three shallow spots of flesh missing from his torso. The guard saw this and hurriedly picked him up. Priscilla carried Amour out of the official residence complex and headed straight to the royal court while Valerian was sent directly to the infirmary for treatment.

Amour was apprehended and the news spread like fire in the dry grass.
